Does anyone know the best value-price components for a computer with a $1200 budget for Black Friday? Only thing know to get is the GeForce 8600 GS from CompUSA and the cheaper 2 gb DDR memory. One of the things I don't understand is if it is possible to change the processor from Duo Core to a Quad Core. Don't have a PC right now so I was hoping to get one this Friday and then just change the processor next year when that new one comes out. Basically, is it possible to get a fully outfitted computer and then change from Dual Core to Quad? If so, what parts should I get for the Dual Core this Friday?

Do not buy an 8600 period, they are obsolete and are terrible compared to the 8800gt. Just spend the extra cash on the graphics card if you plan on playing recent games and future.

Of course, do not get a 8600. If it's not 8800 something, don't get it. I would suggest 8800GT oviously.

You should be able to get a decent motherboard, the low priced Core 2 Duo at 1333FSB, a decent video card, one DVD burner, a harddrive, a good power supply, 2 GB of RAM, and never never never never forget the OS.

You should be able to fit in a quality motherboard, nothing that costs under $100. There are many motherboards, and they can make or break your system. You have no idea how many motherboards that I had to replace because of cheapness.
