So if you don't know the score, please don't reply to this thread. Thank you very much.

So, we now know that Bioware is dead. Forget about the mall zombie filler Dragon Age 2, and it's likely that we shouldn't put our hopes in any of their future releases, from what that Gaider guy himself said in public interviews.

Recent developments revealed that Jagged Alliance 2 Reloaded is dumping turn-based combat and adopting action-based, real time combat. So if this proves to be true, forget about that one too.

The Witcher 2 is coming soon. It was never exactly old school from day one of the first game, but it somehow managed to feel more like it than the above. So let's see what will happen with part 2, I guess. But somehow I'm not too enthusiastic.

Sooo, what's left for us gamers who know the score, other than replaying the old classics we now find in the bargain bin ?

My... keep-an-eye-on list currently has a total of three titles: Frozen Synapse, Xenonauts and Team Assault - Baptism Of Fire.

If you know the score, you likely already read about them. But if you haven't, take a look, because (if you know the score) they might interest you.

Are there any other potentially interesting titles coming out in the near future, for us gamers who know the score ?

If so, then please post about them on this thread. Let us we few, we band of brothers, we gamers who know the score, scrap the barrel together and join efforts to offer each other the good advice that the mainstream press can no longer.

P.S. - If you don't know the score, please don't reply to this thread. Thank you very much.

The score is 8.5. A clear flop.

Ah, nuts. I think I dropped the red pill...or was it the blue one? D'oh!

DA2 is a perfectly acceptable game - it's trying to do something different to Origins with its storytelling. While it's not perfect, it nicely avoids some of the RPG geekery of the first game.

I like depth to games, but it doesn't stop streamlined games being fun.

For anyone who doesn't know what the score is, I give you BioWare's chart of betrayal of the old school gamers:

So my answer is: no, there's nothing left to play for you except those old school RPG's you find in the bargain bin.

News Flash! So far, a total of four people already broke the only thread rule, making the current score 4-0.

While we wait for more relevant and informative posts, here's a quick 'n' rough list of potentially interesting titles all released in the past 12-or-so months which GameSpot failed to review (it's assumable they had their hands full with the latest Call Of Duty instalments and friends):

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/pride-of-nations/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/magicthegatheringtactics/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/shiningforce/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/greedcorp/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/ageofconquestiii/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/guardiansofgraxia/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/grotesquetacticsevilheroes/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/delvedeeper/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/heroesofmightandmagickingdoms/index.html

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/legio/index.html

Now, it's quite possible that some of the above titles are turds, while others possibly good games. But here at GameSpot we wouldn't know. No wonder the general public only knows and plays Call Of Duty and friends, if they depend on major sites like this one to give them reviews and information about games such as the above ones - anything different, or with actual quality gameplay instead of mere eye candy, or original, or not-from-a-major-software-house, or simply mature and intelligent.

Hence, this thread's request for information. But please - ONLY if you know the score.
