Not really. Fable is kind of crap, while Jade Empire is pretty good millerlight89What ? fable is one of the best games ever !!

That had to be the most over hyped pile of **** I have ever played. Peter Molyneux swore up and down how amazing it was going to be, what a fool I was. At least I know now not to play anymore of his **** games. Fable and good do not belong in the same sentence.

I loved both games. I think the feeling of both games were similar. Both are in historic-fantasy setting and were very colorful. But the gameplay differ from each other; Fable was more hack-and-slash action while Jade Empire was more tactical. There was also a point in Fable where you just became too powerful, but I never had that with Jade Empire.

However, if you followed this game before release, there is simply no way in hell you were not let down in someway. The stuff Peter was hyping about this game was insane. If you did not really follow all of that, Ic an see how you would enjoy it. Too much of a letdown for me to enjoy though.[QUOTE="millerlight89"]

Fable is like a CHILDREN'S GAME RPG.......FelipeInsideIt was light hearted.
Don't confuse subjectivity with objectivity, please. If it was so crap they wouldn't have made 2 sequels.Game is crap, end of story, I think FelipeInside put it perfectly. Don't confuse Fable with a good game please.

A LOT was promised about Fable and 80% of it didn't come through in the final product... I remember reading that even the trees, land, grass and all that was going to grow as the character got older.... etc etc...FelipeInsideAnd why should that reflect on the final product if the final product was still a good game? And yes, it was good. It was fun and light hearted. It was a nice adventure game with light RPG features. I can understand the frustration at being let down, but as someone who didn't follow the game, who wasn't let down by unrealised promises I fully enjoyed Fable and conclude it was a good game. Maybe don;t follow games and get so caught up in the hype and you won't have these imagined ideas of what a game is or should be and you'll actually be able to judge the product.
I never said it was a BAD game, but it isn't a really great RPG either... For example, a normal RPG like Jade Empire walks all over it...FelipeInsidePlease explain what you meant by "Fable is like a CHILDREN'S GAME RPG......." then (you can leave out the explanation for the overuse of the word "game").

It is nothing like Fable.
That said, it's a really fun game. Get the PC edition, the mouse controls are fantastic. Also has a great plot twist that's built up to throughout the game, and fantastic art direction. Not the most interesting characters, but a good story overall. And being evil is actually...evil. Get it.
And pro tip: Get Storm Dragon style the first time you see it in a shop. It breaks the game. Anything not immune to magic instantly becomes your personal b****. :D
I guess I should have asked do any of you think I would like it ?
RPGS I like
Fable, oblivion, mass effect 1 and 2, Fallout 3 and I kind of like two worlds but not as much.

Just get it. It's super cheap on steam and the game is awesome. For me the only thing I didn't like about JE was that it was too short for an RPG but, that seems like the way those games are going with ME2 being even shorter.
If you like Bioware rpgs then you will probably enjoy Jade Empire. It's definitely not one of their best games but it is still pretty good. The combat is a little shallow and there really aren't that many rpg elements but the story and characters make up for it. I bought it for dirt cheap on steam and wasn't disappointed with it.
I'll also mention though that out of all the bioware rpgs I own, I have played this one the least. And it's the only one that I didn't play twice through without getting bored. Someday I will eventually go back and do an evil run through though.
As far as all the Bioware games I've played (which might be almost all of them) it is my least favorite. With that said I did enjoy it, but not as much as some of their other games.I guess I should have asked do any of you think I would like it ?

Compared to those games Jade Empire may feel a tad out of place. Most of those games try to be open ended, but Jade Empire is essentially a linear game that rarely breaks open to a sprawling world. The game closest to it out of those would probably be Mass Effect (if you remove the extra planets that you can go to). Gameplay is fun though, but the story was just too predictable in my eyes, except for one part that wasn't very groundbreaking anyway.

I remember before this game came out and all the boasting how awesome it was going to be. Well, it didn't do everything they said it would, but it was a damn fine game regardless. Fable rocks. Plain and simple.[QUOTE="millerlight89"]

It's good. In fact, it's better than the GS review makes it out to be. I'd say it's better than Fable, worse than Oblivion and Mass Effect (I haven't played ME2 or FO3 yet). But it's a great game and probably the most unique RPG BioWare have made in terms of setting, characters and mythos. I never thought it was much like Fable, but BioWare go crazy with some of the funky Chinese-inspired locales. You'll have a blast with it, no problem.

ME2 shorter? That game took me 42 hours with every sidequest and planet scanned. Jade Empire took 18 hours with every sidequest (at least all the ones I could do Open Palm).
Fable was, as previously said, more lighthearted and on the comical side. It felt more cartoonish and never tried to take itself too seriously. Now dont get me wrong, this may float other people's boat. I just dont think of it as a great game, more like time killer.
Jade Empire however had more complex characters, a better storyline (imo, seeing as bioware was behind it) and a better developed world.
This is subjective of course. For me, Jade empire seemed to suck me in the game more. I was simply intrigued about what happens next, and some of the characters i managed to love and hate as opposed to the shallow Fable ones.
I think it comes down to this: Want to play a easier, arcade-ish game for some fast fun factor? Go for Fable. Do you want to play a game with a more complex storyline, interesting characters, with a focus on the world and what happens inside it rather than the actual hack'n'slash? Play Jade Empire.
I say go for it, I think you'll like it. The world is colorful like Fable, but the gameplay is probably closer to Mass Effect. I didn't really get into many of Bioware's classic, but this and KOTOR are my favorite up to date. I'm still stuck on a certain part of ME so I can't really say I like the game whole. lol.I guess I should have asked do any of you think I would like it ?

You will like it. Also i got to say i agree with what they say about fable, it felt like a children's game and the creator promised soooo much and in the end there was half of it in the final game. However its still a good game but with games like oblivion out there, it felt pretty weak in comparison.I guess I should have asked do any of you think I would like it ?
