RTSs for me, the depth of gameplay is so much greater and the results of modding are better mostly. Hellishly addictive.

Both equally.

Sometimes I need to kill people, other times I need to fight epic battles. Just depends on my mood that day.

If you had asked me years ago I would have voted both, but there hasn't been any interesting RTS games released lately :( When I need a strategy game I'll go play Civ IV, which is TBS (which I like more than FPS), and in the past year I've played more FPS than I usually do

Well, after Blizzard created Starcraft / Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, it became clear to me that the RTS genre has much better of a grasp for storylines than the FPS genre will ever have.

Overall though, I'd choose FPS because I do nothing but play games online all the time.

FPS, closely followed by RTS and adventure tied for second. I can almost guarantee FPS will win this poll. I made a poll topic a while ago asking which genre was their favorite; FPS, strategy (TBS, RTS, etc.), RPG, other, or two or more genres equally? Out of those choices, FPS was leading by about 150% the second highest, which was about a tie between RPG and two or more. RTS was in fourth place, with other in fifth. So, yeah, FPS will probably soar ahead in this poll.

How can you prefer neither? If you prefer something it is a comparison between what the items are, so neither doesn't make sense really.

Anyways, I prefer FPS.... Real-time strategies bore me, well except Starcraft....

They both get repetitive in their own ways..

But then, i never got into RTS's that much.

So i'd say FPS.. although, i'm not amazing at any game =).

I have been getting quite into RTS recently but I have to admit I prefer FPS; the rush you get from hunting people down and killing them(quote fps_doug) is just really awesome and addictive. RTS is great, but I'm a tr00 fps boy...through and through.

Both. RTS for single player (except World in Conflict, for single and multi-player), and FPS for multiplayer

RTS but only by one point out of 100.

RTS > FPS > 2D Platformer > RPG > Racing > Fighting > Aventure > TBS > Action/Adventure = 3D Platformers = Third Person Shooters (All the same to me)> Shooters (yes real shooters the 2D type) > Puzzle > Sim > Sports > MMO

I found it when I was a noob, and didn't go on Gamespot or anything. It looked cool in the shop and I don't regret buying it.
