All I can tell you is who to stay away from. Most MMO publishers are greedy and unprofessional. Stay away from these publishers... 1. Joymax 2. uforia 3. Neofun 4. Acclaim. 5. Subagames 6. Netgame 7. Gamersfirst 8. Any publisher that makes 'global' versions. Even if one of them has a game you might like, it won't be worth it. You see, most of them don't make their own games, but they get to set things like exp rates, monster stats, etc. They will do things like set exp rates low to make leveling a crawl in hopes you will pay real money to buy fake money to get in game items. Publishers that are usually okay: 1. http://www.aeriagames.com/ 2. http://www.gpotato.com/ 3. http://www.outspark.com/ 4. http://www.nexon.net/ A publisher that is not open for buisness yet but will likely be professional with a good game: https://secure.atlusonline.com/home.aspx

You could try...

  • Atlantica Online(Turn-based combat. Very different)
  • Perfect World(Basic, grind-heavy MMO)
  • Shayia(Like Perfect World, except a little better)
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine(MMO based in the Shin Megami Tensei universe)
  • Runes of Magic(Closest youll get to World of Warcraft, without buying World of Warcraft)

Last Chaos, Mapple Story, Shaiya, RF online to name a few, I've never played them because I personally don't bother with free MMO's since they're usually lacking but I hope those recommendations help.

If you're looking for something World of Warcrafty, definitely Runes of Magic. I've sunk quite a few hours into it already and I'm not anywhere near bored with it.
