I've been looking for some free MMO'S,

Now I know many are quite poor, but I've been looking for about a month now, and like some opinions on these games, because trying each one would practically take forever, I doubt anyone has played all of them, but even if it's just one, the pro's and con's would be great, so I can make a decision, based on your experience. e.g. how's the community, end game, PvP, dungeons, raids, any unique features, as well as problems etc. (I've tried cabal online, and enjoyed it, but discovered there is no dungeons/raids, it's all solo.. I think, not at end game so I can't be sure). The one's I've seen that look good are;

Cabal online

Shadowbane

2moons

Runes of magic

Anarchay online

Archlord

Last chaos

Perfect world

Rakion

Rapelz

12 sky

Fiesta

lost chaos

shaiya

I heard that Runes of Magic is the next big hit, everybody loves the beta... I'm installing it now.

I'm quite surprised they have such a gigantic target for the open beta - 250k!

I've played Fiesta, and I really enjoyed it.  They have your regular quests, then they have what are called "Kings Quests."  The KQs are a set of special quests you can get every so many levels that direct you to the KQ list, which are special areas that queue up every 2 hours.  When they queue up, any player who is inside the level requirements can join in, resulting in a 10-20 man group, all aimed at killing enemies and bringing down the boss.  At low levels, the KQs make you shoot up very quickly, though later on you get the best experience from running regular quests, AoE killing with 2-3 other people, and just running the KQ on the side.

Of course, it does have its problems.  For starters, the game is really lacking a lot of newbie-friendly beginner guides, such as how to obtain and use crafting skills, how to enhance your equipment, and things of that nature.  Also, with only 4 classes to choose from (hunter, mage, fighter, cleric), you don't exactly have a whole lot to play around with.  Each class does have a nice selection of spells as you climb levels, but I always felt they tried to make the classes very easy to pick up and use... which isn't inherently a bad thing, but i always thought they could afford a bit more complexity, to bring more variety to the game.

Cabal online -Boring repetive gameplay, finish this place, go to next one kill more monsters and so it goes...

Anarchay online -Extremely complicated game, if you like very complicated stuff, this is thing for you.

Archlord -Boring

Last chaos -Boring

Perfect world -Boring

Rakion -Kinda good game, but it's connection system fails, living in some "bad" places can leave you out of game.

I'd recommend you Runescape though.

It doesn't have that good graphics, but it has big variety of stuff to do, no classes, you can be anyone.

It's 6$ per month if you want full effect.

I was thinking about trying out Secret of the Solstice sometime over the next few days. It looks interesting enough, the visual style similar to Disgaea or Ragnarok. Not sure about the gameplay though.

I dunno, I was going to try it, but I deleted the game after 5 minutes.  I couldn't get past that horrible camera angle >.<

I've played runescape, been a member, level 82! Yup, back when i was like 12 or 13.. that's why i'd never play anymore (i'm 17 now), i logged on yesterday for the first time in years, after remebering my password.. and it's just hillarious, i went to the dual arena, and lost against a level 60 odd.. i had a training sword though =D. and mithril armour. Then when they were fighting me, as they have a lot of time seeing as you only click once, were typing "lol pwn4d", "lol ow3nd" "n00b". I'm not kidding =D. and i just rofled, thinking how i used to play this, and how they must feel playing this, but how much i ridicule them now, without the realising, because there incapable, i'd just love to log on just to mock them for taking it so seriously.. (i know you could say that of any game, but :P). Yeah, just same monotonus tasks, cabal on the other hand, is all 3d and fun action. Though, i won't deny runescape the fun i had in my like pre-teens =D.

Well, for a hardcore gamer.

(FORMAT: Name of the game; Ganre; Quick words; review, on my blog).

Requiem: bloodymare; Gore-Hack'n'Slash MMORPG; Loads of battle's with a great feel, feel quite good becouse of the well drawn Bloog and gore. Enemy's cut in pieces, monsters at any sight. The gameplay is not so revolutionary, but the combat is great; Review: http://gameview101.blogspot.com/2008/11/requiem-bloodymare-review.html .

Shaiya; Fantasy MMORPG; Great game, different difficulty levels, state of the art graphics, great gameplay; Review: http://gameview101.blogspot.com/2008/11/shaiya-review.html .

There are more, but these are the best i think.

The only free MMORPG i've tried and like has been Atlantica Online. Not amazing, but it has a refreshing combat system.

I really try to avoid free mmos since most of them are garbage. I remember many years ago I played and enjoyed Priston Tale but it didn't last long.

Whats the monetization model for these games anyway? In game cash shops? That stuff ruins mmo's for me.

I have to agree, if you've played a decent P2P MMO before, playing the free ones is utter boredom/frustration. On the other hand, if you haven't played a WoW/LOTRO/WAR/SWG/etc., you might get better mileage...

I've played two of those - Archlord and Last Chaos (i've played more, but not that you mentoined). Both of these arn't that good, but Last Chaos is by far a much worse game. Compared to the two LC takes much longer to lvl and that is truly all you do... Archlord atleast makes the grind seem a little better by making the game go through quests. Also quality wise AL takes it (graphically and just the game itself).
