Topic says it all. I'm looking for fun free MMOs that doesn't rely heavily on microtransactions to win but enjoyable?

So far I'm liking Vindictus. It has micro-transactions too but more on character customization.

Game is epic fail, and is it not a MMO anyway. Try EvE its free after a few months since you can just pay for your sub with isk (In game currency) Apart from that all Free MMO's are terrible.

Just because you don't pay a small fortune every month doesn't make it terrible. As there are so many anyway it's just nonsense to call them all terrible unless you've played every single one.

There are 2 MMOs that are true MMOFPS. Planetside and WWII Online. Both have dying communites and both cost money.

Need more opinions. I'm looking for MMO FPS actually..NerubianWeaver

APB isnt an mmo anymore its more of a gta style mp shooter.. but its still ridiculously fun despite a few imbalances and their servers being as flaky as a pastry..

im playing it now actually.. my in-game is Avariace im a criminal out on joker server

I thought it was Good, free, MMO... anyways considering that I have had fun with several F2P MMOs(ranging from Runes of Magic to LOTRO, and never spending a dime mind you) this "idea" doesn't make much sense. And given the millions of players that regularly play these games, I would say I am not in a minority.

I think Apb reloaded is alright and fun. I think it will get better as time goes on since its in beta still. Its a very Teamwork and PvP oriented game though. And I love the character maker. I can get my women just the I want them to look.

Yeah sorry, the whole genre is FUBAR. The developers/maintenance people will do everything to make sure as many people as possible end up paying. Balance tends to be broken by the cash store benefits, making for awful pvp and wonky pve. Production values still tend to be lower than P2P games, customer service is sporadic, and since there are so many contenders in this cheap-ass genre, communities tend to rise and fall very quickly. They also tend to be worse than the P2P communities. However, from what I've seen, LOTRO is not so terrible, mainly because it started P2P and inherited that quality. Non-paying players just have a harder time leveling, and don't have access to all quests. If I had to choose one, I'd go with LOTRO. On a related note, WoW's dominance in the P2P MMO genre has a positive effect: contenders have to actually make something GOOD to even hope to be able to compete.

I've never played APB but it sounds like what the TC is after. Isn't APB more of a shooter than an rpg?

oh yeah gamersfirst is the developer now they have a downloader, you generate an account and download it atm to download,install and start playing takes like 3 hours updates & all which is pretty low for a f2p mmo.. i know i soent almsot a day updating lotro

your starting guns are prety good but i recommend trying to get a sniper rifle or shotgun when you have the money.. id also get a new set of thread when first able.. starter clothing is ugly
