LOTRO is the best. Though by the time I got to level 33, ie you have to unlock areas using Turbine points. And I needed like 400 points, which I would not have been able to get unless I bought them, or spent a LOT of time grinding little deeds.dramaybazhey, at least they give you the ability to get free points :P Tip for LotrO: Max reputation with a faction = 100 Turbine Points. It adds up :D

It adds up :D I had abotu 400 points that I spent on removing the gold cap, and spent other points to use Auction house. But by 33, I only had like 5 points lol. And I needed a few 100 to start questing in the new area. And I still had to buy another character slot. That is when I thought, hey if I am going to spend that much time, and even money. Then might aswell return to WoW. :P
Blast from the past if you don't mind taking on something a bit complex: Anarchy Online
I like the sci-fi setting of that game. Played it for 3 years back when it launched
Nexon has a nice lineup of FTP MMOs (Vindictus, Mabinogi, Maplestory just to name a few), and LOTRO is now free.
I tried all the usual recommendations and didn't find any of them fun much at all. :(. MythPro1
Same. The phrase, "you get what you pay for," seems to be very fitting for free MMOs.
in all of these threads i suggest Guild Wars with the disclaimer that it isnt completely free since you have to actually purchase the game. it is however free once you buy it and it is miles ahead of many of the completely FTP games.
i also warn that it isnt a traditional MMO and more of a Cooperative online RPG which is the way the makers describe it.
Free MMO's absolutely suck. There is not a single good one worth playing. In fact, the only decent F2P game that I have ever played is League of Legends, and even that game is meh and repetitive. I would reccomend EVE Online which CAN be free if you know the ins and outs of making quick cash, but unfortunately it has taken a turn for the worst recently and is going downhill fast. I can't reccomend WoW either because that game has been milked to the point of no return.
Star Wars: The Old Repulic comes out in a month and is only going to be the standard $15 a month deal. If you are into RP and PvE you will definitely enjoy it, if your the PvP type of guy it might be dissapointing, they have not released much info on the open world PvP and PvP worlds. Also, Guild Wars 2 which will probably be coming out around February is going to be $50 up front like a normal game with no monthly fee and is a full scale MMO world with persistence. Definitely keep an eye out for GW2.
actually some f2ps dont suck as long as you have friends willing to play with you and as some one has suggested me and a friend are going to be taking up hunterblade because its bascially monster hunter plus my computer is quite old so most new games wont run on it even with low settingsFree MMO's absolutely suck.
