So i got this game for a good price, and I heard good things about it.

It installs fine, no problems during the screen resolution test either.

But when I try to launch the game, I get a black screen and I hear EA's logo intro, and nothing happens. I have to alt-Tab out and close the program.

Im running Vista 32bit, and have a monster computer so specs arent the issue. I tried no-cd patch, compatability mode in Vista, running the game in lower res, nothing helped. My drivers are up to date (not that it matters for an older game).

Any ideas?

hey, i'm having the exact same problem: installs fine, runs as admin on XP SP2, but when i go to play, i get a blank screen the EA sound clip and nothing. i read somewhere to try running it in windows 98/ME compatability. anyway, did you ever figure it out?

I am also having the same problem for a very long time, again I tried to play the game and agin having the same problem.

Someone suggested, (I've not tried yet):

The installer doesn't work, it says it can't execute "Freedom Figters_Code.exe" which is used to set the CD key. To get around this, install the game in Windows and copy the game folder over to your Linux partition. I don't know if it's required to run "Freedom Fighters_Code.exe" with Cedega first to insert your CD key as I did it anyway just to be safe. After all this, all you need is a no-CD patch and you're ready to play. The game works flawlessly (tested with nVidia).

The game installed nicely on 6.05 using a .mdf image in AcetoneISO2 on openSUSE10.3.
