Rig:

AMD 3500+ (Venice)

A8N SLI Deluxe

2 gigs OCZ (4 x 512)

450 watt Antec Smartpower

BFG 7800 gt

The chip fan on my mobo is dead.  I have been getting a message every time I turned on my comp that the fan was slow or dead but didnt really take it seriously (I know, I know, I am stupid).  Now its time for a new mobo and proc.  I was thinking of getting a AM2 mobo, probably ASUS and a AMD 5200+.  I have not been tuned into the computer world for the past 6 or so months so any advice would be greatly apppreciated.

I wouldn't suggest going to AM2 if you already have 2 gigs of DDR and a decent processor. You might as well just replace the motherboard and save yourself the cost of the CPU and RAM.

you could always get a new chipset fan for $10.
