It just keeps getting better and better. The trailer speaks for itself...

I agree, what the hell? Why are you so hyped? The trailer does speak for itself, and it's saying, "I'm a useless piece of **** trailer". The graphics are still logs of crap, the gameplay doesn't look any different, and it's, it's just a crappy trailer, peroid.
"its identical to City of Heroes...." - Amen. -_-
its identical to City Of Heroes....Mizarus
Read first and then try again.
Saying the "game" is great or is crap or is exactly like City of Heroes at this point is ridiculous. There is no game. If you read through the website you'll see they have some vague ideas for a game and they have a game engine (which is probably a little CoH 2 and a little leftover fetal material from Marvel Universe Online). But the movie is 90% animated concept art with a few seconds of game engine footage in between. A quick scan of the dev posts in their forums shows they haven't decided what they are building yet.
The movie and the website are shopping for a publisher to pay their bills. I think Cryptic made an unluckly gamble when they jumped ship from NCSoft to get in the sack with Microsoft and Marvel.

giantraddish
Wrong.
Cryptic made enough money from selling their shares of CoH so that they can publish their own titles such as this and the other two games they have planned. They also have a lot of details down already such as a much more customizable character creation, not only do you create your hero but also your arch nemesis, there are items and equipment to pick up and these items and equipment can change the way your character looks. The hero you create isn't limited to only certain powers but powers that do fall out of your characters class cost extra...
things like that.

True that. Considering what they are saying will be the main features of this game, this sounds almost identical to City of Heroes while they were still developing it.
It seems like the devs are trying to make the game that they originally wanted COH to be, perhaps without the pressure that NCSoft put on them...
The game doesnt' look identical but it will more likely than not be much of the same. The combat system sounds like it will be better (no recharge), and I like the Nemesis feature.
My problem with it though is it's being designed as multiplatform. The majority of the times games are developed multiplatform, it's the PC players that suffer.
I'll keep an eye on it and try it out if they give a trial/open beta closer to it's release, but I'm just expecting a faster paced CoH at this point.

i tought the trailers speaked for itself.... ive played city of heroes for some pretty good time, and from what ive seen in the vids the gameplay is pretty much the same, the only main diference being that villains are bundled in the same game and arent a Expansion Pack, aside from that the game is pretty much a clone at this point, but i will eventually try the beta to make sure, after all i might be wrong
(i really loved the battle system tho, this might make the game)

Other features this game will have:
- The ability to pick not only the color but also the movement your character uses while walking, using a power. (the example it gave is you can have a mastermind that just floats a few inches off the ground constantly, a werewolf character that runs on all fours, or a really stiff robotic character)
- You can have Secret Identities: changes the way missions work and how you do/receive missions
- You can shoose weaknesses and vulnerabilities
- There's a block button and you don't have to wait for your powers to reload to use them
- The land doesn't just consist of one city but a while world full of underground passages, different islands and even missions in outer space
- Equipment that you can pick up and use that changes the look of your character (also an option to turn off the visuals if you still want the equipment)
- tons of factions to join that will unlock new stores, items and crafting stations.
- You never have to join a team. You can play the game the whole time as a single hero (not many MMO's do this)
- much more action /comic book orientated combat and environments full of traps
[QUOTE="waza000"]and ... wtf is that ?
looks like crap
Mizarus
the graphics should improve, its early development those probly arent the final models/shaders
Graphics don't bother me too much, I just hope they get the visuals working great before they launch rather than continually pile a bunch of stuff in. The city of heroes graphics engine is incredibly unoptimized.
They added a bunch of particles and stuff after launch, which hurt everyone who had been playing the game with no problem before the patches.
