I there any real benefit to having a full tower over a mid tower case? I ask because I'm buying a new case because mine right now is just a cheapo. It's a mid tower, but I never had trouble fitting any of my pc parts in it. Could anyone recommend me a good case that's $200 or less please? I prefer Newegg.

Check out midtowers from Lan-Li or Antec. You want something with LOTS of fans so aim for something with about 5-6 120mm fans. Don't even bother looking at sub $100 cases as they are universally crap.

^ You might want to refrase that comment you can pick up an Antec 900 for under $100 and alot of the Coolermaster sub $100 cases are built so well that they rival with the $200 cases on the cooling front and other areas.

I personally prefer full-tower cases. Give more work room making working on the PC easier, and usually give better airflow.

I have built 3 PC's in the mid-tower 04carraher linked, and I can say for a mid-tower case it is an excellent case. I used the Thermaltake M9 for my GF's builr, another great mid-tower, although overprices unless on sale.

I use a ThermalTake Armor for my case, and I am 110% pleased with it. If you have enough room, and do not plan on moving the PC much, I would at least look into a full-tower.

Agreed. While I will admit most sub $100 cases leave alot to be desired, there are some very good cases for ~$50 and up.

If you can find a good full tower for a reasonable price (and have the room for one), I would generally recommend that over a mid tower. Some video cards are very long (the GTX's and 9800GX2 at a whopping 10.5 inches), and will only just barely fit inside even some of the largest mid towers (I figure the GTX 260 I recently ordered [I figured this before I bought it, though] will probably only fit in my Raidmax Smilodon if I move my hard drive down to a lower slot in the HD cage, as it's right in line with the PCI-E X16 slot and there might be no room with the connectors sticking out of the HD), so a full tower ensures you don't run into any problems in that respect if you ever want to buy a long video card.

Last I checked Antec 900s are $120 normally give or take, although might be on sale somewhere.

And I'm sorry (since I know you own one), but I despise Cooler Master cases. It's a personal taste thing since I've never owned one. But they also do not look cool enough by any means as they lack a big open front fan grill. I won't touch over bezelled cases that don't have two intakes on the front.

All cases under 100$ are crap ? So untrue.

Antec 300. I bought it for 49.50$ CDN.

Coolermaster RC 590 70$.

My choices would be:

Mid Tower: Antec 900

Full Tower: Cooler master Cosmos 1000

Yeah, I love my Thermaltake Armor+ Full-tower. Even in this hot weather, and only 3 fans, it runs nice and cool. I'm going to move around some stuff in my tower and add 2-3 more fans.

I would have to say full tower. I like that you have a lot of room to work with. Having a lot of room can help you hide unwanted mess and increase over all air flow within the case. Just the other day I decided to move around some wires that I had which were blocking airflow. So I hid a bunch of them in places I didnt even know I could put them. Then I had room for another 120mm antec fan inside my case. Of course its kind of ghetto rigged in there but it works as a temp until I fully secure it in there.

That doest mean you cant find a mid tower that wont fit your need and some mid towers are so big there almost full towers.

most people will recommend the Antec 900 case for a cheaper mid tower case. I would go with the RC 690 myself though, it is actually cheaper than the Antec case and it is still a really good quality case. Biggest downside is that the hard drives are in the front which generates heat going back from the front intake fan (but most cases are like that). Other than that it was easy to build in, and has spaces for 7 case fans.

Well Thermaltake armor+ & Cooler master Centurion 690 & Lian Li Tower are the Top Airflow Case for Full Size
For medium size It apparantly MX+ still and some other toward from Lian Li
But Lian Li are more expensive. NZXT tempest is not a bad choice i heard more airflow then Antec 900 and medium size
The Largest medium size are called Super medium tower an over-sized medium tower but sitll not big as full

thats what the tempest is at least it should be its considered a mid tower case but it is really long and wide
