When I run FruMark my GPU temp goes up to 90C in about 15 seconds with fan at 100%, games get hot too, how can I fix this?

FurMark is meant to stress the GPU to 100% load. What kind of case and case air flow do you have?

i used to run crossfire 4890 with out a problem, i got a scythe ultra kaze in the bottom front intake and one also in the side above the card blowing on the CPU. THE HEAT SINK ON THIS CARD seems pretty beefy eith 4 pipes and a strong dual fan, if you have seen the card, i am thinking the voltages are out of wack or the temp sensor is not reading right.

Looking at the case, your probably not getting enough cool air on the bottom. Your video card is just spitting hot air back into your unlike the HD 4890s were.

Should have gone with something like a Cooler Master, SilverStone, Lian-Li or Antec.

Your current GPU has no back, which means it pushes air back into your case. Your HD 4890s I am going to assume were regular HD 4890s, which means that they had a full heat sink cover with a fan at the rear of the card which pulled air in from the case and pushed hot air out the back.

when I take the side panel off and blow cool air in it still goes to the same 90+C temps. I don't think its the case although I know there are better cases.

Are you comfortable with reseating the heatsink on the GPU?

I would suggest taking this up with Gigabyte's support than.

yeah, think I will the card never artifacts, just runs really hot, I think the voltages are tweaked some how wrong, but according to the BIOS, they are right, unless the heat sink just sucks, but other reviews say it works fine.

Nope. Those temps are normal. I've reached 88C while running Furmark, and haven't bothered running it ever since.

You may be able to shave off a few C's by blowing out dust from your card. But asides from that, you should expect very high temperatures from running Furmark.

Also, check the VREG temperatures on your card. MFG's sometimes do a really sloppy job installing the thermal pads on the heatspreader, and there have beeen a few cases of fried VREGS when running Furmark. They're rated for 125C, but I'd keep them below 100C to be safe.

The GPU BIOS is set to never raise the fan above 40%-45%, as the fan motor used is an absolute monster. You could force the fan to run at full speed, but IIRC, it outputs something around 70dBa at that level.

you can't be serious? as it turn out this card doesn't like ati drivers or the ccc at all, it comes with its own software and runs much better with it. at 22% fan I am getting max 77c in dirt 2 max settings.

Huh? That sounds like it isn't working properly if your card isn't getting hot.

Furmark is like NO game, it will make heats that no game could ever reach. If your cooling wasnt good enough then Furmark would give you **** loads of artifacts. Long story short, your cooling is fine!
