Hey guys, i am thinking about getting the 880 GTS. i am told the 512mb version is the best. the cheapest brands i have seen are inno3d, GIGABYTE, and PNY. are these bad brands? because i can get these brands about £30/$60 cheaper.

so are they good?

The new 8800GTS 512k is supposed to be a great video card. Any of the other GTS models (with different memory configurations), seem to be made obsolete by this new card. If you go to the nvidia web site you can see the specs for all the different models in the 8 series and compare for yourself. I have personnaly had good luck with PNY branded video cards. Never any problems..Hope this helps.

correct about the 512MB version being the best.
Either brand will work fine, personally I'm fond of GIGABYTE, I find them to be very reliable.

They're all the same with different stickers, packaging and warranty plans thats all(depending on the model, different clock/mem/shader speeds as well). Afterall, they are only reference Nvidia cards.

no get inno3d, xfx or evga. Those are the best.

PS : Please dont double post your questions and try to put them together in the same thread esepecially if they are about the same issue.

Look, its real simple. Just pick the one which is the cheapest if choosing is so hard for you. I've said before and I'll say it again, all 8800GTS cards are reference models from Nvidia. Right from the PCB to the RAM, to the entire PCB design, they are the same.

Get the MSI 8800GTS 512MB OC.

Its cheaper than the ASUS card and runs much faster and colder.
