GFWL=Piracy

Just got a new graphics card today and wanted to revist Libery City an lo and behold even though its been years since the whole GFWL bs began I as a polish gamer am still treated like a sack of ****. My GFWL account ofcourse does not work with GTA 4 becouse Im in Poland. Seriously if a country is not supported why in the hell can you choose it when creating an account? Even the new Ubi DRM isnt as stupid as this...but maybe Poland is the least significant country on the long list of unsupported nations who knows

Perhaps you have the wrong version of the game? A North American copy when you should have a European one?dos4gw82

I wonder how can they even sell a game in a country where GFWL is not supported. This is indeed one of the reasons for GFWL should die a painful death. Not only is it completely and utterly unnecessary, it prevents some people from playing the games they bought just because Microsoft happens to be lazy enough to not support all countries. Such bs. :?

I just put country as UK. Same goes with GFWL I guess.

Unless you play online just get rid of it. It's useless.

Ofcourse I tried using a UK account...doesnt work for me.

GTA 4 and GFWL taught me a very valuable lesson, basically if a game has GFWL then avoid it like the plague. The GFWL service is buggy, laggy, unstable and completely unsupported by Microsoft. So at the end of the day if MS can't be arsed to support the service why should I support it with my hard earned money. This naturally means I will miss out on some games (no I don't pirate them) but I won't die if I never play these games and who knows if enough people tell MS where to shove their service they might actually do something about it.

I rememberd the awesome way I got to play my games last time I had a GFWL game installed. In Red Faction Guerilla keep trying to log in until it works. 23 times is the charm for me now I must go for I puched a wall and am bleeding.

On the back of Bioshock 2, it does state "LIVE is not available in all countires, please visit, such & such for details" - so i'm assuming it states this on every GFWL associated game. Nevertheless, it is stupid.

GFWL IS CRAP .

i dont know why they make some countries and others not that it self is acrime . and why we find these games on aretail stores in our countries while we cant go online really microsoft sucks .

And you are holding the Polish versions in your hands?

You can create an offline account with GFWL. That usually helps circumvent the annoying login issues that service tends to have.

GFW is fine but LIVE is just horrible. I have 2 live games (GTA IV and Fallout 3) and now I'm avoiding any game that has it. I wouldn't want to get a GFWL game even if my country was supported.

GFWL=deal breaker for me on any game.

Complaining about GFWL on gamespot formus...dudes c'mon...who the hell do you think will care?how many PC gamers do you think this forum has?No one will mind you if you guys complain about how bad is the devil...ON THE DEVILS PLAY GROUND....everybody knows gamespot is an xbox fan site....now who the hell do you think will give a crap about your complains on this website....the only ones who are reading/writeing on this forum are the same 30 +/- guys who where here last year and two year before that etc....if you spread some news on gamespot no one will hear it because there are so few peopels who visit pc/mac forum...

Anyhow if you want to harm(just a figure of speech) GFWL in any way you guys should praise another app,like steam...thats how it works...GFWL is bad,is wrong,is ugly,is buggy,is laggy etc...but isnt out there anyother app that is better than GWFL???Stop bashing GWFL,stop talking about GWFL and start praising another app. that is better than GWLF...but ofc not on this forum coz no one will ever read....

No, GFWL is fine, the only real issue with it is the country thing.

Man...I must be lucky. Never had any real problems with GFWL....an update got stuck once....and that's about it. ( Just restarted GFWL and the update finally finished ) I don't particularly like the whole GFWL thingee...having to be logged in to use DLC etc...that stinks...but I don't have any problems either. But if I had to choose I would not use it....unfortunately some of my favorite games use it. Maybe it will die and gaming can get back to normal...

However seeing the GFWL required logo will not stop me from buying games.....
