I understand that the more expensive ones have a faster processor, wondering which would run age of conan/CoD/ other games at high graphics and with high fps. And also how the $999 computer would handle such games, even with the slower processor. Also, if you could give me your opinion on the sellers, that would be great, thanks. I am planning on using square trade for the ebay items

I'd rule the second one out, it has a weaker processor then any of those 2. The ASUS G51Vx has a Quad core @ 2.0 GHz, and the ASUS G71 has a Dual core @ 2.51 GHz, now if the tasks cannot utilize up to 4 cores, then the dual core will be quite faster then the Quad, but if they are optimized for Quads it will own the dual core any day. Note that this is irrespective of the battery life(Which for me is far more important then any other thing, but people are different) and other features. Although one more thing to consider that the G71 has a 17" screen, slower laptop with lower HDD space and the G51 has a faster and bigger HDD and a smaller screen. I'd go for the G51(first one).

Oh and one more thing, a properly configured 999$ will beat those 2 laptops(Provided you're counting monitor out, even with a monitor it should be able to beat it).
