You can say that it helped bring the popularity of digital downloading up because in all honesty, digital distribution in games was rare when or before Steam came out.

Anyway he should have been in Forbes awhile ago or been in a "people you should know in 2010" with him storming on Sonys E3 stage, Steam on Mac, new steam layout and a solid amount of titles hitting steamworks.
