Max Payne's model is actually Finnish writer named Sami Järvi who wrote the story for Max Payne. During the development of the first game, Remedy didn't have big enough budget to hire professional actors, so programmers, designers etc did the acting.

thank you. i actually knew that - not to this detail, of course, but somewhat. anyway, most newer games, i'm sure, used models/actors to model for the characters, so i'll consider that a moot point from here on forth. :)

you know, I would have no problem with Knoxville playing Max Payne in a movie. The guy is an OK actor, but I dont think he would do well at a dark, gritty role.

I think Mel Gibson would have done a better Max Payne. Sure he's a little old, but he's got the rest of the character down, just watch Edge of Darkness and I'm sure you will agree.
