They do indeed. Although I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that the game is far from release and they need to do lots of polishing. A Game of Thrones doesn't need more crappy video game. I'd like a nice game where I could explore the world. Hopefully it turns out to be good, but I'm not planning on it.Graphics look terrible.

A game based on political intrigue and actually playing "the game of thrones," and people whine about graphics. Ignorance must be bliss indeed. Debut trailer or not, color me interested. It looks terrific, though that it's coming out on consoles too means it will probably be a watered-down, casual-type RPG. Oh well.krazyorange
Then they should make a political simulator, not an action RPG.
The graphics are awful, that's a fact. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but with how badly Genesis sucked, I'm not holding out much hope.
lets all admit that the graphics and animations are terrible. with that out of the way this can actually be a good rpg i think if its constructed similaly to bioware rpg games. they have a very rich lore to use but i am fear full that they will overstep and ignore the great lore of the books. i hope its coming out in 2013 cause it looks like it needs alot of work to compete in todays market.

So you're saying you shouldn't involve highpolitics in an RPG? Me for one thinks there should be MORE politics in RPGs. Makes for good immersion, intrigue and character development like moral choices and whatnot.
The graphics are ok. Not Skyrim or Whitcer fine, but absolutely good enough. The real question is will the game have a good story, interesting characters and good gameplay?
I wish George R.R. Martin would design a video game. One thing it would not be is "easy" nor intended for a "broad audience".
The video looks good, but I know better.

You represent everything that's wrong with gaming. I hope you're happy. RPGs aren't supposed to be graphical powerhouses.[QUOTE="airshocker"][QUOTE="krazyorange"]A game based on political intrigue and actually playing "the game of thrones," and people whine about graphics. This christmas i'm gonna play Ultima 7 and Temple of elemental evil. And this is not just about nostalgia. Those games are just damn good games, even though they lack in graphics.

I'm saying if you really wanted to make a game that would capture the politics of A Song of Ice and Fire, they'd make either a half-decent strategy game, or a political simulator. I simply don't believe an RPG can offer the same thing as a grand-strategy game when it comes to complexity and deepness.
I disagree about the graphics. But hey, one mans ceiling is another mans floor.

So because I want decent graphics and believe certain genres are better for certain types of gameplay, I'm everything that's wrong with gaming? Stop being dramatic, child.
I'm not saying games have to be graphical powerhouses, but they still have to have good graphics for me to play them. Could have the best story in the world and if it was a 2D platformer I would never touch it.

Cosign, one of my fav rpgs of the last few years is Avadon, a game that looks like an old Ultima game but that has better writing (story and dialogue than many big mainstream rpgs).
I definatly dont need great graphics in a rpg to make it enjoyable.
With all that said though, these same devs did a horrid job on the strategy Game Of Thrones games so im not to sure how this one will be.

They already tried a strategy game for Game Of Thrones and it was god aweful and one of the years worst games.

Not only that, did you guys notice the stiff animations? Horrid. Why must they feel the need to ruin the Game of Thrones name? /sigh.. If they're going to make a GoT game, make it damn good, or simply don't make it at all.Graphics look terrible.
