Not sure if it's the right place to ask... but anyway.

I'm a PC gaming newbie and I just start downloading demos but I noticed that in all the demos that I downloaded, the game screen is moved to the left.... like I can't see part of the left side of the games and at the right it shows the black. It's like the whole game screen is paned to the left. And outside of playing games on the PC, the screen is normally in the middle. It's really weird. I know it has something to do with my PC settings but I just don't know where. Can somebody help me out please?

Well that's odd, maybe the monitor is screwy. If it was every program to the left i would say to go under the video card settings and move the picture to the right, but you say it's only games :?

Yeah, that is wierd. Check the video card settings anyway. Maybe by default the Video card is setting the resolution to a funky setting. Start there and play around with it.

Use the controls on the monitor to move the image back to the middle. This is commonplace with CRT monitors where you have to calibrate the screen for different resoutions and refresh rates.

LCD's using VGA may also need calibration.

There is something wrong with your attitude though.

All I'm trying to say, is that if sometimes you switch monitors w/o adjusting your video card and then try loading a game - as you said the calibration could be off. Which is what happened to mine last night. Brought my home PC to work trying to play Crysis and the mouse pointer didn't line up to the icons when you clicked them. I had to readjust my Video settings.

Your mouse pointer didn't line up to the icons? And what setting exactly did you adjust to fix that. I have never heard of that problem before.

My Home Monitor was set @ 1600 resolution whereas My work Monitor Only goes to 1280. I didnt preset my video card prior to that / so when I loaded up Crysis / whatever I was trying to click on with the mouse wasnt lining up. Had to set resolutions.

Yes, I had the same problem with my LCD monitor. The exact same problem. Fortunately for me the monitor has its own auto calibration. One click and it fixed itself right up. And yes, I am using VGA. No DVI. Thats why it only cost $150.

Thanx Spartan. I needed that. Some of these folks think they know everything. Was just trying to prove a point to these fellas that there could be something else going on too. And overall - The initiator of this Post has yet to respond. That irritates me.

I actually get that from time to time. switching resolutions usually fixes it, but on my laptop, Crysis won't allow me to change resolutions, so that's pretty crappy. I'm pretty sure it's actually a relatively common problem, even if it's difficult to find addressed.
