I'm currently searching for a gamepad to use on my Vista PC, and so far I really enjoy the Gamecube controllers. I am looking into  Gamecube-usb adapters, but I can't seem to find one with a Vista compatible driver. Are there any Gamecube-PC adapters compatible with Vista, or any other possible ways to work around this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Technically speaking, most adapters of that sort will just allow the PC to map the buttons of the controller as regular joypad inputs, so most of them should still work with Vista. It would not be safe to say that ALL of them will work, but most should.

I don't know of anything like that. I just use a wired 360 controller.
