umm i know it's kinda stupid but is there a way to use my laptop as a monitor for the gamecube? my friend says i should get AV-RCA cable (or something like that) and my laptop is dell 9400, with VGA port and S-video TV out connector

Very doubtful. The VGA port is almost certainly just a VGA out not in.

Well gamecube isn't HD so theres not much to be gained by trying to put it on a computer monitor rather than a tv. People use pc monitors for the 360 (myself included) because they have higher resolutions than standard tv, but are much cheaper than an HDTV. But gamecube isn't HD so I'd just use it on a regular tv. You can pick one up pretty cheap if you don't already have one you can use.
