So i have a problems with playing games. They crash A LOT ! These games are Gears, Bioshock, COD4, DMC4, Crysis Warhead and Assassin's Creed. i updated the latest drivers for my card, patched all the games, flashed the BIOS of the mobo, and still nothing. Ibelievemy GFX is overheating since temperatures go to 80-85 C while playing and 60C when idle. It's a Inno3D 8800Gt 1GB, i tried Rivatuner to change my fan speed but nothing ! The fan Tab does not appear whatsoever ! Help guys how can i increase fan speed ? BTW the card has a 2-pin for the card that is pluged in the card. Thanks.

This purely a guess so dont take this comment as gospel

But It could be a mix of your PC temputure and your PSU not being up to it.

Thats what i THINK is happening. If i was in your situation, I would try and get all the fans working as much as you can and see if you still have the same issues.

WTF AM I ON ABOUT!

Well think about it, your CPU has a fan, your graphics card has a fan, im guessing your case has an extra fan. Find a programes online to turn all the fans up an noutch. this way you can see if it is a temperutre issue.

Other than that id wait for a moe experienced Gamespot member to help you out

Good luck

I have read that the 8800GT get HOT. So this is why i think it's the GFX's fault. Otherwise i think the PSU is strong enough to handle my system: 600W and 48A on four 12V Rails.

Your Toughpower is sufficient even to power SLI cards, you're fine there.

Just out of curiousity though, what plug are you talking about? The one for the fan? Because it sounds like the fan might not be properly connected, since you don't get a fan option.

it is the fan connector which is connected to the card. and i think it's installed correctly since i removed it andpluggedit again without anything changing.

Are you sure it's all the way in? For that matter, are you sure the fan is even spinning when you turn on the computer?

I doubt it's the GPU heat issue. ~80C is fine for a graphics card.

What I am thinking is unstable, is the RAM. What are your RAM settings? How much voltage are you pumping into them, what are their timings, what speed do they run and at what command rate?

Also, describe what happens when the game crashes.

Run Orthos for a couple of hours and run Memtest86 as well. Even though you haven't overclocked, your system may still be unstable.

That definitely sounds like graphic artifacting, indicative of a GPU overheating.

I just want to test one more thing...

Try removing one stick of RAM. Make that you keep the memory in dual channel mode and have 2GB accessible.
