You can turn down the resolution of games as an option.

Also, have you tried Airmech? It offers a "very low" graphics setting, meant for older hardware. Not exactly 60 FPS gaming, but at least the game as an amazing community to help you out with problems! Check out Airmech here: http://airme.ch/1D0k3VF

Here are some of the best games I know that don't require any sort of gaming PC...

- Binding Of Isaac
- Diablo 1 & 2 + Expansions
- Starcraft
- Rise of Nations
- Limbo
- Braid
- Mark of the Ninja
- Duke 3D
- CS 1.6
- Arma: Cold War Assault
- Hitman 2 (maybe?)
- Mount & Blade Warband

Your RAM might hinder you in some games but they should still run (hopefully). I think there are lots of good games that people can play on any PC. Possibly even the majority of good PC games out there can be played on old PCs. Just not much recent games.

The Radeon 9250 is in the same class as the Intel GMA 3150 of my netbook. Not good. But, some games are quite playable. Quake 2, C&C Red Alert 1 and 2, Warcraft 3.......

C&C: Tiberian Sun was made a legally free download. There are also legally free adventure games such as the early King's Quest remakes: http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html

if you like turn-based wargames, there is WinSPMBT which is a free, Windows adaptation of the MS-DOS game, Steel Panthers: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/Camo_Workshop/MBT/MBT_page.html

If you're into action/adventure, you might want to try some classic Raven Software games:

  • Hexen 2
  • Heretic 2
  • Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force
  • Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2
  • JKII: Jedi Outcast

If you like RST game you can play for sure Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, Rise of Nations, Commandos BEL, Commandos BCD, COmmandos 2, Fallout 1 & 2

Maybe you can play also Morrowind (but probably the ram isn't enough)
