The Steam version says nothing about GFWL.

The game has to say "Games For Windows Live", not "Games For Windows".

No you didn't get it wrong, but Microsoft did make things unecessarily complicated. There are actually two schemes that Microsoft operate on the PC. These are :-

Games For Windows = this is a brand name that MS runs. When a game is released with the Games For Windows banner it means that the game adheres to certain standards (such as including support for the xbox joypad) and it means that the game has been through Microsofts quality control and has been certified (don't laugh at the back). However a GFW branded title does not necessarily mean it uses Microsofts GFWL network.

Games For Windows Live = if you purchase a game with the Games For Windows Live branding then the game adheres to all the standards of the GFW branding and on top of that uses the Games For Windows Live network for it's network features.

As you may have guessed Skyrim is a Games For Windows title and NOT a Games For Windows Live title.

Bulletstorm is an example of a GFWL game. I hate that damn client being required to run the game. But, I like the game. So, I put up with it. I get a lot of achievement unlocked messages which I don't care for. I just want to kill the bad guys.
