Looks like you may have an overheating problem. Were those temps taken at idle? Have you tried cleaning out your PC?

I was going to say the same as above, your computer is most likely overheating, most common problem is dust! clean your case out if not then maybe you need more cpu thermal paste :)

good luck

Sorry just noticed that you said you cleaned the dust out, try see if your cpu has enough thermal paste then, maybe even get better cooling for your cpu.

122°c... Wow. I wouldn't be surprised if something has been damaged.

What case are you using?

Are you playing games or baking pizza? lol

122 WAAAAAAY too hot man, that's the problem. The cause is another issue. If this is a new problem with an existing pc (not new) it is has nothing to do with the case. I would re-seat the heat sink/fan and apply a new layer of thermal grease as well. Try that first, cheapest and easiest option.

That may be part of your problem, looks like it only has one fan vent. How many fans fans are you using? Try running your PC without the side cover on.

Gah!! I just noticed that was your GPU not CPU.

Same basic troubleshooting applies though man, if you have always had this case that is not the root cause.

Both your CPU and GPU are too hot. Take the side panel off your PC, see if the temps change.

The GPU temps may be the cause the the CPU's temps. I had to reapply the thermal paste on my 8800GT after a couple of years, the temps shot up and games crashed within 5 minutes. Reapply the thermal paste to your GPU.

Absolutely. Get an aftermarket cooler or find some way to create more airflow around it. I had the same problem as you, but didn't have near the temps that you do.

Looking at the temps my hunch would be the GPU temp is causing the higher reading on the CPU. Any chance you have another video card to swap out?

If it is your gpu (which I think it is and has nothing to do with case or cpu) I think I would invest in a new one rather than buying a cooler for it. If it were a higher end card it would be worth it but not for a 9600. Just my opinion. If you aren't in the market for one look into a cooling kit for it.

Just make sure you test the new card under the same conditions, with the panels on.

An 9600 at over 115 degrees is close to breaking down also your CPU runs a little hot, I still have one of those and full load never goes over 75 on the hottest core (stock cooling). There's definitely a problem with your graphics card, hopefully just the fan, but it might also be the GPU itself and it might also be the CPU cooler. I never encountered graphics card problems that would just freeze the PC, blue screen or restart is common, but I myself had a faulty CPU cooler 2 PCs ago and it always locked the PC after about 20 minutes of gaming, it was apparently running like it should, RPM was there, desktop temp was there, but when stressed in games the fan couldn't keep up.

Your CPU temp gets around 85c and your GPU is 120c? That's pretty damn hot for both. It sounds like your computer can't breath. Try checking if the front panel vent has dust clogging it. I popped off my front panel (be wary, there are wires connecting to it) the other week to find a dust bunny the size of a bunny.

I think you should get a decent case before a new graphics card.

My stomach twisted seeing 122c.. my god

How warm is it in your room?

Check to see if the heatsink on the gpu is seated correctly, clean it, open your case (get a new one tbfh, that's terrible) 75c idle for the gpu?

Idle----load| for my computer
40c----70c gpu (hd5850)
40c----65c cpu (i7 920)*

*Stock intel cooling was insuffecient, it actually was hitting the thermal max (100c). Replaced with an H50.
