Games like Diablo and Titan Quest?

Good call--Sacred has a big following, and a strong reputation. Isn't Divine Divinity also a decent game in this mold?

I thought Divine Divinity was more in the Baldur's Gate mold, ie., RPG but less of a hack-n-slash. I haven't played it though.

Dungeon Siege is hack-n-slash that's more in the Diablo mold. In enjoyed both the first and sequel for Dungeon Siege, although the expansion for both games are nothing to write home about. If your looking for Diablo type games then you must play Dungeon Siege.

Also, as mentioned above, Sacred is supposed to be a great hack-n-slash RPG and a promising sequel is coming out in the near future.

Loki is coming out in the next couple of weeks and looks to be directly Diablo inspired.

Throne of Darkness - Basically the same, but with 7 samurai characters (each specialising in specific ability such as magic, stealth etc.) that must be each maintained.

Divine Divinity has lots of hack 'n slash but also a substantial amount of roleplaying, and the atmosphere is pretty good, IMO.

You could try it, it's very good anyway.

You might want to give Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption a try, although I didn't really like it that much.

And also look for Revenant and Nox and perhaps Darkstone.

Those are all pretty old btw.

i don't know about NOX....maybe i missed something, (and been a while since i played) but i remember beating it REALLY quickly....like, quick enough to destroy the experience.....-10hours.....

i know this is probably a pointless piece of advice....but one old diablo style game that i enjoyed was Record of Loduss War....

very long, very hard and great chr/equipment buffing...

problem is...it was for the dreamcast...maybe you can find a DC emulator and a rom for the game......

I thought Neverwinter Nights and the Witcher both had very similiar styles of gameplay when it comes to combat, but with a much deeper roleplaying aspect of course. Good stuff. Most rpgs that use that kind of view seem to borrow that style of click combat and inventory management.Baji_Boxer

hell no.. i thought that too at first but now no way! those two games r totally different from tq and d2 type games.

btw out of all the d2 clones tq is the best 1 but yet its still no where near as good as d2 imo.

Guild Wars IMO is Diablo 3 in spirit, and definitely worth getting. It explores the PvP aspect of Diablo 2 to much greater detail, and fine tunes the PvE aspect. You do not have to click constantly on an enemy to fight him, and loot is assigned randomly to players, so people can't steal it all.

However keep in mind, Guild Wars focuses more on your skill and strategy, and less on obtaining uber-items to win battles. The level cap of 20 is not a problem at all, as you will want to continue playing well after for various reasons, including capturing Elite skills and better (not uber) weapons.

those are the 2 that I feel are essential, the 2nd is an expansion.
