You could try the Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale series. They both feature a fantasy settings instead of a post-apocalypse setting, but you may still like them.

I've heard some good things about those two. I'll look into them. Keep up the suggestions.
in the vein of Fallout:
BG series, IWD series, Jagged Alliance (atleast the first 2), Arcanum. Arcanum stands out since it was made by alot of the same people. And the BG series had people from Fallout in it too (or was that just BG2?)
Of the above games, Jagged alliance, and Arcanum are made with a turn based combat system. BG and IWD can autopause at certain intervals, and allow you to plan a few rounds out in advance, you cant hit bodyparts in any of those.
Cant remember Jagged Alliance very well tho, so you might want to look it up. (It is not an RPG tho)
Oh and dont forget Fallout Tactics ;) it is mostly based around the combat engine.

Thanks. I've got Fallout Tactics too.
Give fallout 3 a try, even though the game play is completely different, its a great addition to the fallout franchise. Out of all the fallouts, 3 was actually the one that was the most imperssive. Bethseda really created a very realstic world, the gameplay and story are pretty good too.

Have it too. Sorry, I should have specified that in my first post.
Dear God no... I am not sure since I live in Denmark, but over here the same box cost 20$ in Gamestop.

Why wont they let you get mass effect. Because of the one scenes. Which imo are only like 4-7 seconds of a whole game.

I know. They're so lame. I'm trying to convince them, but it's working too well.

you can get mass effect pretty cheap these days, prolly 20-30 dollars. Save up some money and go buy it your self. Its a amazing rpg. Probably the best rpg of this gen Get the pc version if your computer can run it, as it is less buggy then the 360 version and the inv system is way better.i think you might be able to bypass that by just not having a good relationship with her. or if you are the girl then with dont have a good relationship with the guy. Tell them that. or give a friend that is 17+ to buy the game for you and don't tell your parents. Like for me i just tell them to buy the game and they don't really read what the game is really like. Well my dad might but not my mom. But i wont have to worry about that soon i can almost buy all these games at the end of this year.

I think it is a decent game. I wouldn't say the best game but it is a game where you go to bunch of planets and you have a leveling system. Try to watch some videos on youtube of it to get aPicture on what it would be like. I sort of comapre it to halo guns wise. Overheating guns and upgrading guns with certain things to get a tacitacl advantage. But gameplay is other than halo.
I think the best way to describe Mass Effect is "pop culture RPG" and no it is not a bad RPG, but honestly? dont get into it thinking that it will be the best RPG ever made.
The Plot and Universe, is so inspired (that it is nearly ripped off) of Starwars and StarTrek, if you like those two settings, then Mass Effect is right up there.
For me? I felt it was way too childish, and simple, there is VERY little custermisation, and there basicly is 4 weapons in the game (and some powers) a pistol, a shotgun, an assault rifle, and a Sniper Rifle. Granted there are like 50 varriants of the same damn rifles in the game.
It also has a disconnect I couldnt get over, the RPG parts of the game almost always play out on the space station, (and they are good).
When you get into a mission however the game changes category, it turns into a 3rd person shooter with VERY little RPG elements. If you like 3rd person shooters that aint a bad thing ;) but I cant stand those games, so it lost out to me :\
The Production values are great on the game, voice and graphics are pretty darn good, and certain aspects of the game are very well made.
To be honest the "sex ecene" in Mass effect is a joke, I am somewhat sure there are more "hot" action in a pg13 romantic comedy.

Indigo Prophecy had a lot more scenes of that nature than Mass Effect and I don't remember the media attacking that one. What would be real funny is if you actually owned a copy of Indigo Prophecy...
Anyway the closest non Fallout game that I can think of is, 'Jagged Aliance 2'. Amazon is still selling Gold....

I'd also suggest Planescape Torment, but the problem with that game is that it's near impossible to find.

Is that an RPG like game or just a pure-breed TBS?
Planescape is an RPG, but i'm a huge fan of the Baldur's Series.
Baldur's Gate is one of the best games (period). It is very much a fantasy novel
come to life. You're the offspring of the God of Destruction and you brother is trying
to hunt you down and kill you, so he has all the power to himself. The gameplay is stellar,
you're never confined to linear storyline. It just flows into so many different choices.
Mass Effect seemed plastic in comparison. I'll step down and say, I really can't back
the Baldur Series enough.

Indigo Prophecy was cencored in America and did not contain the sex scene, it also was a fairly niche game that didnt get a lot of atention.
But on topic of sexually promiscous games, check out the Witcher (American Version is cencored) its a modern game, but its very much designed like the ****cal era of RPG's.
and of Course, the ledgendary Planetscape Torment, problem is that its a. Extreamly difficult to find (gametap has it though, but that requires a subscription). b. It requires a lot of reading, not a problem for me, but some dont like th that.
TBS? Tuned Bases System I assume? And I'm also assuming you are talking about jagged Allience or Planescape?... Umm... yeah. Jagged Allience plays more like Xcom, than anything else, I guess. But it has that Fallout humor placed in it. And isn't all just battles, has RPG type sceneros/towns inside it.... like Fallout 1 & 2 has.
As for Planescape, it's your typical bioware RPG type game. Same exact gameplay as Baldur's gate, In fact... Except...you don't get a gameover screen if your main character dies, and the main character can also revive others in his party. It's of the same realm as Badur's Gate and Never Winter Nights 2, actually. Planescape is like a spirit world or something. Purgatory is probably a better explanation of it. It was released before Baldur's Gate 2.... so a lot of dialog elements that are in BG2 are an expansion of what was in Planescape. I just feel Planescape is more like Fallout, because the main character isn't really limited to only being a goody-goody; much like the first 2 fallout games. And is a bit darker than Baldur's Gate 2.
As for that link you left with both games with both expansions... personally, I think thats a fair deal for 40 bucks. That a good 400 hours of gameplay there. Although. Baldur's Gate one will feel outdated and you'll probably end up just quitting halfway thru. Due to the story's slow developlment and the cluncky gameplay. 2nd one will be a bit more tolorable.... But regardless, I don't really put them in the same class as the Fallout games. Baldur's Gate is more swords and dragons, with a typical villan plot, than the darker setting of Fallout.

Well I don't really know what I missed... but I own the PC version of the game and there were plenty of Mass Effect style bed scenes that I saw. Although, purely barbie doll, I'll admit. That's about the only censorship I can guess there was. But then again Mass Effect didn't show much either. Just a crack is all you saw; and that's pretty much all there is in Indigo, too. Although, 3 times as many bed scenes... and one shower scene. And yeah... I'm in America. Maybe the PS2 version was censored? Or was there's something morecut that I missed in the PC version?

Sorry. TBS means Turn-Based Strategy. And Jagged Alliance sounds like my kind of game. I'll check it out and Planescape.
