in the [erfect category there's Fallout3 , Oblivion (with mods) , bioshock , AvP , the 1st 2 hours of assasins creed . CoD: MW .

on the other hand , some flaws kept these from being perfect :

*Resident evil 5 : feels a lot like an arcade game , had so much potential , its good but could've been better

*Red faction : guerilla

* Dead space : confusing controls

*infernal : nice shooting mechanism and animations and soundtrack..

those are the ones i can think of now , what do you think ?

Crysis, if it wasn't for the buggy final boss fight.

Crysis and Crysis Warhead. You can even say these games are too complex in some areas which essentially faults things like A.I. I must say that gaming indeed has a long way to go for improvements with A.I.(People are still struggling to make robots replicate like actual beings). Potentially both games are very ambitious which grants some appreciation on the effort, but certainly both games are too ahead of the times to share that level of an experience of those scales.

Part of the reason for this has to do with optical object recognition. It's really difficult to program a computer to be able to use visual sensors to identify arbitrary objects. As to OP, what was your objection to Red Faction? Also, I don't see how Dead Space had confusing controls... they worked fine for me.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2... Wow, it's not even out yet and I'm already saying it.

There's no doubt that the SP will be epic though.

Would have been nice if they included lean though... But I can't say that will ruin the game.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodline.thusaha

but its problem that it had performance issues i guess , but i loved it ,

far cry 2 had potential beautiful graphics , but enemy respawning every 2 minutes and being repetitive ruined it , gears of war was really good also !

Doom 3: great graphics, but repetitive scares and dull gameplay Oblivion: the bad AI and levelling system as well as the boring NPC ruined a brilliant world representation for me. Spore: a very ambitious idea turned into a good character creator with almost no game in there. SW Force Unleashed: great story brought down by standard console gameplay Mass Effect: a good game with boring quests and (mostly) unmemorable quests

Crysis, I actually felt the game was too linear and didn't have that "plan out your tactics and beware of your actions" charm other games have *cough* ArmA 2 *cough* CitiesXL, the MMO part had potential, but it just turned out to be a chat room you pay monthly for. Fallout 3, dissapointingly un-immersive, just like other Bethesda games, didn't really feel like a Fallout game. And Dead Space had confusing controls for you? :S They were fine for me.

GTA IV....could have been so much, but outside the graphics, the game is very shallow compared to San Andreas or even Vice City...

Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia 4 - a more uniquely designed approach rather than repeating the same parts over and over again. Braid - if it replaced the twitchy parts with more puzzles

KOTOR 2:TSL

So much lost potential in this title due to releasing it before it was ready.

my opinion : -Oblivion : not appealing enough. Didn't feel sucked in to it. Got bored after about 17 hours. -Fallout 3 : the same. Not interesting enough. -Red faction : Guerilla : missions not good enough -RE5 : Not as good as RE4. Not fun to play. -Crysis : not enough. Not fun enough. -Assassin's creed : far to repetitive. -Prototype : extremely powerful character. Don't have what to do with it. probably more....can't remember

i think Max payne was really good , and also Far cry , UnreaL ,

currently am addicted to fallout 3 , my 2nd playthrough with some mods

Crysis surely had amazing graphics but should've had more diversity (environment)
