First of all, pardon my english..

Well, i wonder what old games is still worth to get nowadays. I think i already played any worthy todays pc games until now. I found out that fallout 3, mass effect series, dragon age, and assassins creed 2, is magnificent games. But other than that, i just dont found any other great games. When i look to gamespot reviews, i dont find so many 9 score for the last two years. So can you share what old games that you still play?

FYI, old games that i still play is: Morrowind, Oblivion(is this old?), Rome Total War, C&C Generals (my favorite C&C game, i've played the latest and its not that great)

And please give the reason why you still play the games!

Dawn of War!!! Get it, you will love it and it will last you months. Then you will want to start collecting the miniatures. Next thing you know you are in the hole 1000 dollars from buying paints, codices, and boxed sets. Then you will have to read the Horus Heresy. Haha, at least that is what happened to me...

Everyone else came up with some good lists. I would recommend playing Half Life 2, Torchlight, Trine, and although it was rated poorly, give Dark Messiah of Might and Magic a try. You can pick it up cheap and it is actually really fun, totally unique. Oh and Titan Quest isn't too bad.

Thats right! Thanks to those that mention Jedi Knight! I think i'll begin to search my rack to find that game and install it to my new computer, still a wonder why there is no sequel for that game until now...

A few months ago i just finished playing the KotOR series for the fourth times, its a great game, and now Dragon Age take its place..

Maybe i'll give Dawn of War a try, its an rts game right? Actually im not really into rts, only its very special that like, but i think i give it a chance..

Oh and one more game that i forgot to mention: Freelancer

Now im not playing this game, but suddenly i remember it and makes me think, "Damn! How can i forgot it! I must find it and have it on my new pc right now!"

I play old games because they are still great to play.

Age doesn't matter whatsoever in my view, I still buy plenty of games considered 'old' on a regular basis.

To put in perspective, I bought (also re-bought) these games a month or so ago, and have been playing through them like I did years ago.

Heroes V? Really? Not a bad game but Heroes IV all the way. So many things I love about it. I just love the art style and the music is unforgettable. Barbarians are number one!

Oh and battle realms is another good one.

Forgot about thief. They are good games. Any kind of first person game that puts shooting and general combat in the back seat is a good game. And many of the older games were like this. Games with the option of combat are better since the combat isn't the point of the game. Games that focus on combat are nothing but a lot of shooting because there is nothing else to the game but shooting.

Like system shock 1 & 2, Bioshock 1 & 2, Postal 2, Deus Ex, but not so much deus ex 2. IGI 1 & 2.NOLF 1 & 2. The Thief games as mentioned. RTCW had a unique balance between battle and adventure even though it was just a shooter. Half Life 1 & 2 were fun because they were more adventure than anything else.

As for other games. The original Metal Gear Solid was great. The silent Hill games were alright. Splinter Cell was cool adventure espionage game. Hitman was a fun run. Parasite eve 2 isanother greatclassic.

I have hundreds of games but many of them I haven't played for more than ten minutes. Most of them are packed away. The thing about games is... you don't have enough time to really play them all, to get the most out of them. So buying ten games a year is a waste of money.

Gaming in general was so bad at one point that I ended up buying game such as Devastation, firestarter, psychotoxic and Nakatomi Plaza. There's more but you get the point.

I am playing Fable the lost chapters right now, I am having a blast with it, I picked it up at half price books for 6 bucks cant beat it. It dosent feel like a dated game at all, and the graphic style really aged well. Other then Dues ex which has already been listed, I dont have any pc games older then that, and to all people saying Dues ex is the best game ever made, Fable for me is 10x more fun.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, I replayed it in preperation for Conviction (which I just passed on) and it is still amazing.
