Hi,

I've just purchased a set of Senn HD555 headphones and I'm looking for some games with really good immersive sound and/or music.

I've already had fun playing with Bad Company 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :)

Do you mind some older games? Arx Fatalis had excellent sounds and the game was really great in that regard.

Bad COmpany2

Crysis

Arx Fatalis

Left4dead2

When I got my new computer and got a really nice soundcard I was blown away by how good Crysis Sounded. Got the soundcard mainly just for recording music but man some games just sound amazing with it.

It doesn't matter if it is old or new, however the game itself needs to be at least playable.

Batman AA looks good, I think I may get that.

Shame I didn't purchase LFD2 during the Sale!!!

well there are a couple depenends on what games you want.. WIC world in conflict had great sound for a strategy like game, and COH company of heroes as well. though highest quality sound on COH will make you take a performance hit, unless you have a dedicated sound card and/or a good quad core.

but Batman AA, and L4D2 like others on here have said, both have fantastic sound as well.

L4d2 is quite a bit louder than most games though, just to let you know.

If you want to play an older game, I always thought the sound quality was great in System Shock 2. Creepy and atmospheric.

Deus Ex doesn't have amazing sound or anything, but it has a funny surround-sound filter that makes stereo sound as if it's surround. It actually works too.

Another +1 for Dead Space. The sound design in that game absolutely blew me away. And if you're cool with older titles, check out Blood. The sound quality isn't great, given the era, but the sound design and usage is fantastic. Really immersive and effective.

If you're a sound junkie just like I am, Crysis is a real treat. As well as Dead Space.

Yeah Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) does the voice of the Joker in it. He was the (main) voice of Joker since Batman: the animated series.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 has some of the best you'll ever hear. Left 4 Dead 2 also has some seriously great audio.

How has nobody mentioned Thief 1 or 2 in this whole thread yet? Astounding sound design, and it IS key to survival and success in that game, given that you can hear guards and other foes-and they can hear you too, if you're not careful. The whole Battlefield series also deserves a mention, though it seems that I get far better imaging out of 1942/Vietnam/BF2 than I do Bad Company 2. (I am using an X-Fi and CMSS-3D Headphone, though, which could have something to do with it.)
