games with huge battles

Supreme Commander gets my vote.

strategy game wise,

well theres the good Medieval Total War 1(original is better but doesnt look as good)/ 2 (better than RTW) and even the awful Rome total war.

if your willing to look at older games I would recommend Cossacks series of games, huge numbers of units in those.

Dawn of War series can have some big battles but they feel more like a mob fight

and offcourse theres the recent Supreme Commander.

FPS wise id recommend the old Dooms and Painkiller (it still looks good).

If youre looking for huge battles, look no further than the Total War series and Supreme Commander.

If you want epic battles, I suggest the Homeworld series and Company of Heroes.

are there any good games out there with huge, epic battles with hundreds of people on the screen at once. im looking for one of these games to keep me occupied for a while, any genre is fine.psp-freak

The last levels in Far Cry have HUGE battles that will make you pee yourself.

By total garbage, I assume you mean "the greatest FPS to date".  In that case, I couldn't agree more, Forlorn Hope :P

no i mean it sucked amazingly hard. if you liek bad guys who cheat every second of the game and boring weapons then i guess its awesome.

I've never cared too much about weapons - so long as it has a good, heavy-hitting feel (e.g. completely UNLIKE the weapons in HL:2), I am happy.  Yes, that means I enjoy boring, traditional weapons.

I felt the AI, on Veteran/Realistic, was excellent.  They engaged in some cheating, but I've never seen a n FPS with AI that didn't cheat, so by comparison, it doesn't bother me too much.

But to each his own.
