Hey, does anyone here recommend any PC games with crazy replay value? I am in dire need of adding to my game library something I can pick up on a whim and get into it within 2min or less. I often have bad internet connection.

***HERE ARE MY FAVORITE REPLAYABLE GAMES: Nuclear Throne, Vagante, Assault Android Cactus, Enter the Gungeon, Risk of Rain, Spelunky, Binding of Isaac

I guess I prefer certain genres based on the above list. Any suggestions welcome though, TIA

Honestly, the only games I find with that kind of replayability are city builders.

They might not be my favorite games to play (then again, maybe they are) because their fun-per-minute isn't as high as, say, a really good FPS. But for some reason a good city builder is the only games I can get into the hundreds of hours into and still want to play.

Games like Anno 2070, Cities: Skylines, SimCity 4, Banished, Factorio (not really a city builder, it's a micromanager sim, but I am putting it here anyway).

It seems like you're into Roguelike games with Risk of Rain, Spelunky and Binding of Isaac.

I would also like to suggest Rouge Legacy, Darkest Dungeon, FTL, Terraria?

Roguelike games seem to be my genre of choice, besides MMO's

Starbound, Civilization Series & Total War, I never thought of playing but will definitely consider. Thanks for the recommendations thus far

I agree on strategies, usually they're source of infinite replay-ability.

Here's my list: (with my hours in brackets)

  • Civ 5 (650h)
  • Cities:Skylines (190h)
  • Stellaris (150h)
  • FTL:Faster Than Light (10h)
  • Endless Space 1 (200h) & 2 (haven't played yet)
  • Total War series (140h)
  • CS:GO (3450h, 2300 of them on community servers)
  • Starcraft 2 (1000h+ and almost all of them are on community maps, I literally completed campaign and played 20h in competitive, everything rest is community maps)
  • Dead By Deadlight (130h)

Also, I constantly coming back to these games even though they technically don't have infinite replayability

  • TES:Skyrim (320h)
  • Payday 2 (400h)

Grim Dawn - I find this game sucking up a lot of my time (252 hours so far) and I'm on the low end. There are people that have sunk thousands of hours into this game.

Really any game with a healthy modding community has infinite replayability, but I would say Minecraft just for the sheer number of new ways people create to play the game.

I'm sitting at 441 hours on Torchlight 2

I find any of the ARPGs, Diablo, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, Borderlands, Titan Quest and others have infinite replay value do to the randomized equipment and tons of builds to play around with. Grim Dawn with the constellations offers a ton of builds. Even more so is Path of Exile.

How?

I mean, don't misinterpret me: Torchlight is arguably one of the best ARPGs (isometric) out there, and while it was appreciated at the time I feel it is too often criminally forgotten. But how on Earth did you put in 441 hours? Is this ongoing, or did you just play the hell out of it back then?

With that said, I am finding myself close to 100 hours in Grim Dawn and haven't even finished "Act 2" yet.

Always had fun trying to find the best loot and not use the Vendor Boon Scrolls, I still have not completely a full legendary set for my Outlander... I still play to this day and I bought it when it first came out.

Nice.

It's been a while since I played, but there was an "infinite dungeon" thing in the game, right? What was the highest (furthest down?) level you got on there?

@sloniq It's funny you want to know about games with replayability but you seem to prefer arcade action or puzzle type's of game.

So you like top down bullet hell shooters and simple and quirky adventures or platformers.

Cannon Spike on the Dreamcast looks good.

To be honest, the games you mentioned don't seem to have much replay value to begin with.

Cities in Motion is my top pick for sims even though you didn't mention any.

I played Mini Metro for a while and is easy to pick up.

But I think RTS games have the most replayability and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valour is the best.
