so far ive found 2 games with really smooth netcode first one is team fortress 2 i could play with 250ms with no noticeable delay AT ALL (compared to counter strike there is a really big difference)

the 2nd one is heroes of newerth which is on close beta right now, i know friends playing with 300ms and they could hardly feel any problems

anyone knows other games with smooth netcode as well? yeah and dont mention RPG games like wow since there is a difference ;p

and sry for my bad english

nope, i usually play the game with my cousin who got the same ping as mine and we dont notice any delay or what so ever when we play against each other etc

also, im pretty sure anyone who played TF2 for some time will say the same thing :)

BS!!......if you are joining games with that high of a ping then you are ruining the server. Kinda sad there are people out there like you who just cant seem to get it through your head that your connection sucks and you bring down a whole server. Stick to single player and quit slowing down the internet. I would never join any server with more then a 50 or 60 ping. And my 25 years in the computer industry will back my claims........

So true

Tbh I've never seen a game with really bad low/medium latency handling netcoding so I wouldn't know.

CoD4 and HAWX surely have a BAD way of handling latency though.

I'm sorry but I had to quote you on the internet part. If you have 25 years if IT experience, you would know the the amount of bandwidth that a user is paying for would not have any affect on the Internet. Their high ping may hamper a server's performance but the Internet will be fine. The only things that have slowed down the Internet as a whole has been attacks on the global catalog servers (Which are being attacked constantly and we don't notice) or the fact that the ISP network segment becomes saturated with traffic.

Surprisingly L4D even at 600ms it barely has noticeable delays and the differences should be huge at that kind of lag. I never play at over 100ms (L4D only, others, under 50ms), that was just an example caused by the matchmaking system that I don't use, for good reasons.

The lag is soo noticeable through killcam - really bad.

And to TC; Like others have said, best thing to do is find servers closest to your location, this really helps with ping and if your ping is 250ms in TF2 it will be pretty noticeable.

I somehow doubt the other poster literally meant that lag slows down the world wide web. It was just a figure of speech.
