Games you love that everyone else hate!!

There are some games out there that I love and when I heard that everyone hates them I was in shock... later I found that even Gamespot gave them low ratings (no surprise there). So I ask you what games do you like (a lot), games that are truly under-rated from your perspective.

For me the games I loved (that people didn't love so much) are: Oni (the best action game EVER) , Nox (i didn't play diablo2 for 3 years because of this game), Sanitarium (one of the best Adventure games I have ever played) and Enclave (this game was just fun).

i for one love oni i want to find a game like it and another one i like is breakdown for the xbox if you like oni and have an xbox you should give it a shot

its not a game its on the same lines i like Rammstein.

but here's a game i like medieval total war it seems that everyone on here keeps knocking it.

CS is the only one that comes to mind...

And I wonder if people hate it because they suck at it, don't have any patience, or prefer mindless shooters. Besides those reasons I don't know why you would hate it...

Halo 2 for PC. I like it, but I don't understand why is so bashed...

I know that it didn't had the best graphics to the level of a UT3 engine, but the game was funny.

there are so many CS haters out there yet I have never seen one in real life (only on the internet)....so maybe it's not hate that they feel but some sort of jealousy as the players on the other team always seem to win. CS is in my opinion a masterpiece ... over the years better games apeared but that doesn't change the fact that CS will always be a game of legend ( i played for a little bit in the PGL so playing CS made me some money, maybe that's why i praise this game)

The feel of the game and the age group that love playing it perhaps. Halo is hated because of its hype and acclaim. Somehow it got the reputation of being the best FPS title evar! I don't know if it has anything to do with little timmy's first FPS game ever played. Or, if, it was, that, it, was the Xbocks only major title and PC users missed out initially. But, if a game doesnt live up to it's own hypezsz then to some that is enough reason to loathe the title.

halo 1 (PC version). I thought halo 1 was an excellent game, but halo2 was a dissappointment. The story in halo1 was top notch sci-fi.Even the graphics in halo1 werent all that bad especially 3 or 4 yrs ago,and i found some of the outdoor scenes looked really good. Halo2 looked like a 3 or 4 yr old game,made by different developers using a different game engine.Some people didnt like the floatiness of the master chief character, which i took to be due to the slightlyreduced gravity of the halo ring,but i liked it and found it useful when dealing with multiple enemies.And I loved the ending,that great wild ride through the ship to escape the destruction of the halo ring!

Halo1 is one of the best pc games ported (hijacked)to the consoles ported to the pc!

in addition, i liked Battle Realms and its expansion a lot, especially the Wolf Clan. i wonder how many people on these forums even heard of those two great and fun RTS games. i was hooked onto it for like 2 years, until warcraft 3 and rise of nations steered me away :|.

another RTS that seems underrated is Stronghold 2. understandably, it has a lot of bugs but I love it regardless, ever since i was hooked on the original Stronghold.

Seriously, I can't really think of any off the top of my head. If you include games that don't seem to get any mention at all, I'd say Anachronox. Despite being real cutscene heavy, it was a fairly enjoyable RPG. At times quite funny.

It's too bad Ion Storm Dallas went under so fast. As crappy as Daikatana was, this game was quite good. It ended on a cliffhanger that likely will never be finished.

Far Cry, a lot of people love this game its good, there are also a lot who hates it tooLonelynight

i loved that game 2 :)

and ive seen ppls in this thread saying that there is ppls hating cs, but i have never seen any1? :P i love it

and i love lineage 2, i allso hate lineage 2 in some ways XD

i love lost planet extreme condition for the pc, only hate that they didnt really make a good port from 360, when i enter a new uh.. "robot" i get the control instructions, but they r for the 360 controller :S

Anywho, why do people say Halo??? That is a widely popular game that most people like. It has a lot of haters, but most people like it, oh well. :/

Maybe KotOR II, I liked that game a lot.

Diablo II of course, but that's not a game that everyone hates, just some silly people. I tend to like really difficult games that people might not like beacuse of that (like far cry on the hardest setting :P) or the tomb raider series

I really liked Gangsters... I thought it was fun in a random, uncontrolable way.

And I HATE CS, mostly because I seriously suck at it no matter how hard I try, but I'm pretty bad at online shooters in general.

the Halo series, i definetly didnt love them, but they were decent games and both were worth the money. the story has its holes, but it kept me intruiged enough to want Halo 3 to come out for PC. if you're willing to look past it flaws, you'll find an enjoyable game.

the xp crack was a godsend

My own contribution: Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. Love/hate relationship there, but overall, I enjoyed it (Creon rules!).

Hey friend ;) I wasnt being defensive, since I didnt.....DEFEND anything at all. I made a point that AA > CS when it comes to being more tactically oriented.
