Games you miss

Your first pc game as a kid that got you into playing computer games? Mine was Lego Island, my dad got it for me on my 8th birthday and it was the best birthday to this day lol. Besides that I miss playing counter-strike 1.6 with my friends when i was in high school. Now that i've grown a little, there's nobody on my block that comes over and plays game with me, and the only competition is to play online :( What games to you miss?

I miss winter nights spent playing Road Rash, Red Alert, Carmageddon and Quake 2. I spent a lot of time with a broken PC that had no sound and ran Quake 2 at like 15 fps. I was listening to the radio or some bootlegged music tapes that my friend was making for me.

ROAD RASH wasDEFINITELY memorable. I miss that game

The only games I miss are multiplayer games, since the communities eventually dry up and evaporate. I don't miss old single-player games because I still play them all the time. :)

That being said, I think the game I miss the most is Rune. There are still a few servers, but they're usually just modded arena servers, and people tend to just go for the big spammy weapons. I miss the way it used to be. :(

Second place is a tie between C&C: Renegade and Tribes 2. Many, many great times were had in those two games.

Jedi outcast....yea, its old but not old, yet I played that game over 50 times....

I remember lego island. I played the hell out of that game when I was young. :)

One game I miss is Dungeon Keeper. With DK3 cancelled and the license now used to create some ****ty MMO, I miss it greatly. No other game that has came out is like it, even Evil Genius is similar but doesn't scratch that DK itch. Dungeons appeared to be what I've been itching for, but that game's marketing just tugged on my nostalgia strings in a deceitful way...

Honestly, I think many Dungeon Keeper fans are begging for developers to just rip-off the game. After all, we're not going to see a true Dungeon Keeper game. I know I wouldn't mind. I miss Dungeon Keeper and would love to see and play a recent incarnation of it to scratch that itch, not some MMO.

hahaha lego island....I played that on this old PC you had to start with a key. it ran at about 2 fps, but i I was about 4 or 5 at the time and didnt know any better...I just thought the game looked like a slideshow by default lol

I really miss playing spin the bottle with the girl I used to live next door to when I was younger. Sorry got sidetracked by my memories! Game I miss playing is American McGees Alice. Loved that game when it first came out. I'm looking forward to the new one their working on.slabber44

Not one of my first but I do miss Alpha Centauri! Why can't they remake it, with all its depth, in the Civ 5 engine :(

My very first PC games where Adiboo, The Incredible Machine 2 and MDK, I also remember playing the Windows 95 Packard Bell House, exploring all the secret rooms, I wish I had that computer back, but I think we threw it out about 7 Years ago.

That's not the first one I played though. Those were commodore games, and though I liked them at the time, I can't say I miss too many of them. :)

I really miss transporttycoon..I'd play that game for hours and it was and will always be one of the best tycoon games ever...

Yeah, it's sad how things change and we gotta grow up. I remember me and my 3 best friends used to play HOURS of super smash bros after school. Now i'm the only one who plays games anymore -___-

I really enjoyed buggs bunny lost in time, crash bandicoot 2 on the PS1. On the pc I loved ao2 and aom, i ran them on a pentium 2

I miss Mechwarrior, immensely. I really need to get myself a nice joystick just so I can play those games again. Too bad I'm poor and finding it hard to justify.

I missed those times when Bullfrog was around and they made really fun games like Populous and Dungeon Keeper. Hopefully Lionhead'll consider bringing back Populous in the future maybe.

The ones I regret loosing are Freespace 1 & 2 and Outcast.

The first pc games I played were Civilization, Kings Quest 5, Sentiniel Worlds, Sim City and Centurion: Defender of Rome.
