I found my copy of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines today.
And I remembered, after just a few days of playing, thinkinghow many cool expansion set's there could be for this game. Unfortunately as you all know, Troika Games closed their doors shortly after.
So, anyone ells had games you wish got an expansion set but never did?
starcraft 2. i want an expansion pack announced because that would mean the game already came out.
but if you want a real answer, i'd like one for civilization four. i know i know, it already has two. but i'd like another one that adds better diplomacy, though the present one is fine, i'd like a more detailed system, like maybe make your two friends like each other so you can form a triple alliance :D not basing it on whether they like each other only. maybe you can try to push their friendliness up a lot more by helping out, being the middle man.
if this function is already included, then i suck at Civ, which i do.
Escape from Butcher Bay really deserves an expansion - and it's kinda getting one. Assault on Dark Athena, or whatever it's called. It's the entire original game, better looking, with about a 40% longer campaign or something that follows on directly from the original.
Hopefully we'll see a PC version.
Bloodlines, as you say, would also be great for an expansion. Provided it was more like the beginning rather than the end of the game, anyway.
Freespace 2... its a shame a sequel will probably never be made... Freaking hate the game industry for this.. Some of the best titles in the late 90's will never see a sequel due to companies such as EA.. Where they buy out devs like Bullfrog then liquify it thus destroying the Dungeon Keeper series.. Or Interplay destroying Freespace 2 and Giants Citizen Kuboto...
BioShock and CoD4, but those are relatively recent releases so who knows? I wouldn't count on it though since then there's the issue of "what about us 360 owners?" I'd say their loss, have fun with dual analog, but business doesn't work that way. Still, it could happen.
An expansion based on the zombies from Emperor: Battle for Dune. I loved all the zombie missions and I generally loved the big open desert environments. And the big sand worms were just awesome!
At the end they decided to use the engine to create a new game, C&C: Generals.
I wonder why they stopped using the infantry cover system from that game. Maybe they thought it just wasn't fun. But now Company of Heroes has perfected the system and it turned out to be great.

I'd like to mention Arcanum. That game screams for a sequel, but I would've loved an expansion with some extra content (and a more user-friendly editor, one of the reasons for its failure, imo) and showing some more details about that lovely crafted universe. Troika was such a good developer...
And then there is Sacrifice, another great RTS gem that should've gotten some more "luv" from Shiny's part (instead of all that Matrix mumbo-jumbo).
Hmm, that's all I can think of for now (just from looking at all the games' cases around here, hehe).
Does anyone remember this Gem of a game! :) Especially the MP!
This game won the MP Game of the Year at Gamespy the same year that Unreal Tournament and Quake III came out! That should say something about how good the MP was.
Strange that no one has tried to copy the Citidel Mode in this game. That has got to be one of the best MP modes ever!
I think that Anno 1701 needs an expansion. One that makes the combat better, en the trading faster. That would make the perfect carribean trading/city-managment game! ... i think.
Call of Duty 2. I waited ages for an expansion pack, and when it was announced Call of Duty 3 was announced I was over joyed. Until I heard it was a console exclusive, and I cursed the world. And I really wanted a Call of Duty game based on the Pacific theater of the war. Chinese, Australian, Indian forces ftw!
