I guess I am just shocked at what I have read here ; and what passes for acceptable and what is offesive.

Yes. You can also be banned for saying that a review sucks, that Gamespot values advertising over reviewing, or for making a post that might offend someone, somewhere in any way, shape or form.

Also, you may or may not be banned should you talk about games that aren't endorsed by Gamespot's hype plan, depending on how the mods feel that day.

WOW, I have alway loved these boards. I had to erase my post because I have alot of friends here and do not want to have to start over. Shame really. I couldn't find in the "terms" anything about discussing a mod problem resulting in a ban.

I would have written GS directly, but I couldn't respond to their email about the warning.

Just let it go. There really is not uch you can do.

There's a "Ask the Mods!" forums where you can ask about moderation problems. Don't try to argue though, they never ever ever admit that a moderation was wrong or that the rules are stupid.

Oh, and you can get banned for trolling in System Wars (defeating the purpose of the forum and killing any entertainment that might come out of it).

I don't know what they will ban you for there, 6 out of 7 of my suspensions are from System Wars and some of those 6 are for trolling.

GS would care less about someone like your or me, although all of us collectively are making them money through a number of different ways.

I was excited when I saw the title because I like the whole "the people fight the man" and the "fsck you, I'll say what I want ~ the hell you will - DELETED" kinda thing that goes on in massive forums like this, but it seems I've only copped the bold red instead of the cute little Linux command joke.

I am not a US citizen myself but saying americans don't have a conscience is trolling so his moderation was justified.

There was this sig I read somewhere around the forums that I found amusing. I would've mentioned the user but I can't remember.

That's possible, yes. Just because someone is trolling, doesn't make it allright to do the same. Just report the troll, don't incite him.

I just wish it was more like IGNs boards where as long as it isn't racial or just pure flame your pretty much ok .... here you pretty much cant say anything other than ... a really censored down version of anything ... and the systemwars toll stuff is just redonkulous ...
