Gamespot's YOUTUBE Thread (Playing Now vids,etc..)

Welcome!!

Feel free to post your youtube video's here! Alot of people have messaged me over the years abotu starting a youtube thread for everyone videos of them playing games,etc..

Somewhat like the screenshot thread that I started (and that wiseboy continued), so sit back and feel free to add to the thread!I will be reposting everyones videos/youtube channels on the main page so its a bit organized.

This thread will ONLY be as good as the people who post in it! So dont be scared, feel free to share your gaming videos!

Just post your link to the videos in a normal post and ill add it to the front page so people know where to go for a users Channel link or a certain games PLAYING NOW page! For example, someone enters the thread looking for a video from Miller or a video of someone playing BF3, TF2 or Anno2070,etc..

I know alot of people on these forums do youtube videos of them gaming, so here is the thread to post them all in! Enjoy!

Thanks bud, I dont usually do alot of these videos, but a few people have asked for some help with Anno, Tropico and Shogun2 so thought I would do a few videos to help out a little but also for peopel to enjoy and who are interested in those games.

Good idea Kozzy. I might give it a shot sometime. I have to ask what resolution you are playing on in your video, you shouldn't have the bars around it and its pretty fuzzy so its hard to read the HUD. I'll make sure to watch the whole thing though once I get a chance. :D

Its meant to just be watched in normal youtube view not fullscreen.

I recorded in half size with fraps, not perfect but I had to get the size down a little bit (it was 3.6 gb each 5mins for this one). Full screen recording looks better but its damn big in size! Some people on another forum instructed me to record in half size instead of full size on fraps, ill try full next although the size was even bigger then the 3.6gb each 5mins of the other version I recorded for part #1.

As for what I was playing the game in, the resolution was 1680x1050, I just wanted to get a decent size as my upload is slow thats why it doesnt look like that resoultion. Unfortunatly ill have to do most my videos this way.

Im not sure about the bars though, that was not there when I recorded it, I probably did it while saving it, will investigate :P

Here is a short NBA2k12 one I did in full screen (5 seconds), it looks better and does not have that black squad around it like the anno one does. But its also 5 seconds as compared to 32 mins. Not sure if ill be able to do this quality with my long Anno videos though. Also got a few different saving options I nee dto try out on the next one because the videos didnt have those black bars around it before I went to save it in another program. Watching the videos now in Media Player and ther eis no black bars and also better quality, definatly something I did when I saved the video I think.

I think half size in fraps is okay, recording in 1650x1050 is probably what is making it blurry. You are gonna want to record in 720p, since thats what youtube will be playing it as. I haven't messed with videos too much, so I may be wrong, but I just recorded a few mins of CS: GO to test. I might as well share it here once it uploads.

I am not much of a youtuber outside of commenting and watching but I imagine this would be a great platform for people to get their stuff watched. also it wills top them spamming the boards too with their youtube accounts so +1 for that. They should be referred to this otherwise.

If this gets up and running I demand a sticky on it !!! :evil:

Also would it be open to all platforms or just PC game videos? I know it's on this board but just curious

Yeah it was an issue with how I saved the videos when I peiced them together... going to have to see how to save the videos in better quality because watching this same video in mediaplayer and it looks wonderful;)

Thanks for letting me know about stuff above, I was only watching the original video files and not the finished copy. Found some settings here for when I save/combine the original videos. When I encoded/saved the final copy I downgraded the quality. Found some settings that work better now, thanks ;)

Big Monument I made in Anno2070! Took very long but its TEH SEXY!

I would also reccomend recording on ANOTHER hardrive (besides the one that windows is installed). Putting my game recording to my external HD helped alot, it cut the slowdown in half or more.

I really need to get a new hard drive. Mines almost full and I'm having trouble recording without having framerate issues. Still waiting for prices to go back down though.:x

I have also uploaded some Cities XL 2012 and Crusader Kings 2 since I last posted. They are both pretty uneventful and still pretty much just more tests.

I want to record some videos of a old classic, SWAT 3. I've been playing it again as I've been craving a good tactical shooter again. I wish I had been recording this last mission I did, it was insane! One suspect gave up and I was about to arrest him when another suspect came out and shot the surrendering suspects dead. Game always keeps you on your toes. :P

Anyway, after reading the posts so far, it sounds like I'm ill-equipped to record as I only have one hard-drive. However, with SWAT 3 being so old, it isn't taxing on my machine at all. If I record using FRAPs on one hard drive, do you think I can still have quality videos?

First, this rather rare (I assume) instance of Far Cry 2 AI actually fighting each other instead of ganging up on the player. I even make an awesome no-crosshair sniper rifle headshot from the hip somewhere in this video.
