I was waiting for this review to come out and it confirms everything I have been saying about this game. Gamespot's review was good but it was a little too harsh on the point deduction.
Anyway here it is.

Lord. Im going to wait til the hype is gone and then see what everyone says. I see the demo, the bland colors, the odd art direction, and Id feel stupid buying the game after playing the original. Gamesterpheonix
You do know that demos are usually not representative of the final product right? We played the demo with most of the stuff locked, no high res textures and it also happened to be a very early build of the game.

It's busted, doesn't function properly. The flags aren't recorded right or something and NPC's will comment about it differently then how it actually happened, it's in the known issues section of the read me. Also says it happens with some of the early DA2 quests as well so.For those of you that have a Dragon Age Origins game save, did it affect Dragon Age 2's that much? How does it change DA2's world exactly? No major spoilers please!

It's busted for a few users while it works flawlessly for others. This is just going by what people are saying on the forums. But it's worth checking out with your Origins file. But yeah, BW shoulda fixed this since it is pretty important. Hopefully a patch comes in soon.
Gametrailers have the best video reviews! That told me everything I need to know. I personally didn't like the slow pace of combat in DA:O so this seems like a definite improvement to me. I'll be picking it up when they release a complete edition.
How important is it for the player's experience? What does the DAO game save file do actually? Anything during your playthrough that's worth sharing in relation to the DAO game save? It's busted for a few users while it works flawlessly for others. It's busted for everyone, what happens is since the plot flags aren't being read right it reverts itself to whatever default BioWare set it. If the action in question fits the default then obviously it would appear to work, but reality is it doesn't. This is a scripting issue, there is no work for some and not for others. I can't imagine it's anything drastic, guess it could be kind of odd hearing your Warden did one thing when in reality they did another. I'd think the fact it's happening to some of the earlier DA2 quests is a bit more damaging on the experience. Just use one of the pre-sets BioWare stuck in until they patch it up, those I believe work fine minus the DA2 quests. It's busted for a few users while it works flawlessly for others. No Madcat, not for everyone. I talked with a few of them on the boards and they say that NPCs refer to their Grey Warden correctly and some other stuff. I think due to the numerous differences (decisions, quests completed etc.) in save files between any two player saves, discrepancy can easily occur.
Elann from what I heard, the DAO impact is very minor. At most you get a few references from NPCs and companion cameos that refer to your Grey Warden. If they affect quests or not, that I will have to see during my playthrough.
Unless someone can explain to me why the script is bugging for some and not for others, which doesn't make any sense, I'm going to lean towards them lying, being misinformed, or as I said what they did in Origins happens to be what the default was. It makes no sense that the game is able to read some saves correctly and not others, BioWare didn't mention any specific conditions and I saw no pattern in the thread. Something like that working for some and not others doesn't make a whole lot of sense. No Madcat, not for everyone. You do remember Witch Hunt DLC right? Some people confirmed that Morrigan recognized the Dark Ritual while others say that she was pissed that the Warden refused the ritual despite them having done the ritual in DAO. The same thing is happening with DA2. Witch Hunt was fixed with a later patch, and hopefully DA2 will follow suit.
Honestly, no I don't remember Witch Hunt aside from hearing it was bugged beyond belief and was one of the few DLC's to receive it's own patch. I don't know what specific problems it had, I stopped really following Dragon Age and the DLC churning well before then. And yeah, they'll certainly patch it up I don't see it being overly difficult. The problem is BioWare has always been a bit slow getting patches out so we'll see when it actually comes out, hopefully they get it out within a month for you folks. You do remember Witch Hunt DLC right? yes ,it is so harsh !!
DAO 2 has bland colors, check your monitor people always overlook that, besides a demo is not the full game. That's why I don't play demo's,
Enjoying Hi - Res pack here.
Now watch this someone is gonna say 9 is too high, well then 8 is too low.
Yup.. people will always complain about anything. People forget that when Dragon Age Origins came out, it got bashed to death for its graphics. Way more than people are bashing Dragon Age 2's graphics. Give them a couple of weeks and they'll forget about it. Next victim - Crysis 2. Mark my words.DAO 2 has bland colors, check your monitor people always overlook that, besides a demo is not the full game. That's why I don't play demo's,
