The Astro A50s are criticized for being too bassy, but I love them. Just pay the extra $20 for the extended warranty... you will most likely need it at some point.

I honestly can't recommend any. I've yet to find any that sound nearly as good as some professional headphones that I had from the 70's The speakers were about 100mm in size, and the bass sounded like big, car audio subwoofers. The bass was crazy loud, and the frequency response range was excellent. Since I haven't found anything modern that even comes close, I'm going to build my own set. The four 2" speakers that I used for bass in the last set of surround sound headphones that I was building didn't make enough bass, so I trashed them. I'm going to use an amplified 4" or 5" woofer on each side this time around, just to be sure. I already have the 8 surround speakers and main amplifier picked out, but I'm still debating with myself about which type of woofers to use. I want the ability to make the bass extremely loud at all frequencies, and the 5" set would be much better for that, but the headphones would be huge. And I don't want to be disappointed by the response range and depth of the 4" woofers, so I'm not sure which set to get...
