Well Knowing what I know about laptops, I know that upgrading it a hard thing to do. But I need a gaming laptop because space for me will be very limited. well anyways I was hoping to spend about between 1,000-2,700 and here are the specs that I want

Must have things

1. 2.0 + GHZ CPU somthing that will be fast not only in games but in many other programs like editing video and such.

2. a high end GPU like (Nvidia 9800 GT, ATI 3870)

3. Blu-ray Drive(it can be a Rom Drive)

4. Wi-Fi

5. Webcam

Things that I would like to have (cool things that do not drive the price up to much)

1. Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR

2. large hdd

3.fingerprint reader

4.built-in mircrofone

5.Good keyboard.

6. Firewire port

well another thing

I would perfer around the 15 inch size the biggest that I would want is the size of the Sony Vaio FW notebook.

also what do you think about the Alienware M15x, my brother told me it should be a good buy for me?

so what do you guys think?

Well, with gaming laptops it isn't like you really have much of a choice as far as building it on your own, so you're going to be overpaying for things no matter where you go. Then again, if you have a budget up to 2700, then you'll be able to get something that is just fine. Check out either Alienware or Dell's XPS series (should be right next to each other on Dell's site). Those would be my two best recommendations for gaming laptops.

graphics cards always seem to be the expensive part of gaming laptops so if u want anything over a 9600gt or a 3650 expect to be paying over 1700 usd. If your lucky u might get a lappy with 9800m gt for 1400.
