Gaming laptops at a reasonable price

Im looking for a laptop that i can use for uni, but can also do other things, im looking at spending about $2000 Australian. The one that I was thinking of was the MSI GX620, has anyone had any experience with this?

Its specs are:

That's not a gaming laptop. The 9600m won't play games too well. Check out gateway's FX line of laptops with either 9800M GT/GTS or 8800M GTS. They're very good laptops for the price. Not sure what they'd be in AUD, but they are usually around $1000-$1600USD.

Not sure. You can most likely get one off of ebay if you had to. I'll look around.

there is no such thing as a true gaming laptop that also works for uni. gaming laptops that run more than medium settings will not be very portable. That one you listed will play games fine but they will mostly be on medium settings @1280 x 800 and maybe have some frame rate dips. laptops aren't nearly as useful for uni as they seem, you'd be better of to get either a cheap one for word processing or a desktop unless you really only want a laptop that can run games ok which that one will do.

Yeah, ive got a good desktop, i just wondered what was around, ill prob look at more of a word processor due to portability
