Gaming Specs.....?

Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor Quad Core QX6700(2.66GHz /8mb L2 Cache, 1066 MHz FSB)

Dual 768mb Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX

Up to 4GB Dual Channel (DDR2 SDRAM (667MHz)

Nvidia nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition.

Would like to know if these specs are good for gaming any advice is welcomed.

This is not my pc(yet). My uncle won this and is giving it to me. I have no past experience with high end pcs so i dont have a clue if its good or not! thats why im asking you guys.

The sad thing is, every day there is a thread nearly identical to this one in which someone asks if their computer is good, only to name off like the best parts in the most ridiculous computer available.  I don't know if these are lonely people looking for attention or if they just like to annoy others online.  I haven't figured out just why people do this...CaribouLou5

Isn't the whole point of the the extream gaming moding and overclocking is to say...... OOOOOOO look at what I got and what it can do? its like that pimping out a car thing....... only usefull and with less rap music........ I mean look at my posts over the last few days I'm puting some hard ass crap in a case... but can't decide on a cooling unit..... now i'm thinkg what can I do to mod my case from a normal black alienware case with red lights to a kewler personalized case........ was going to get a new case but all the plain cases look like crap.....

I wish I could photo shop........ I have the art skills of a kindergardner who can't colour in the lines......... wait I still can't
