[QUOTE="Rattlesnake_8"]Why would you want split screen for Borderlands? You will be using your keyboard and mouse.. do you want to have two keyboard/mouse setups going? That could be pretty awesome, but I don't see it happening.KHAndAnime
That's quite an assumption to make...
You guys still haven't figured out that you can use controllers with your PC?
Here are some games I've had plenty of split-screen fun with:
- Left 4 Dead
- The Worms series
- Serious Sam series
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
- Trine 1 and 2
- Street Fighter 4
I'm sure there's a bunch more I'm forgetting. But split-screen in PC games isn't nearly as rare as people make it out to be. Developers have included it multiple times in situations where it would greatly enhance the game. This is one of those situations, but it seems like Gearbox isn't willing to put in that little extra love.
Its not that its nonexistant or that its not an appreciated feature, but it is quite rare, at least in comparison to consoles where I don't know a single person without at least two controllers. Even on consoles split screen is dying, and of course here OP is just whining and making wild proclamations towards Gearbox about a feature they aren't entitled to add.
Its a great feature and its nice they even got it to consoles in an age where so many games are neglecting split screen completely, but just mouthing off like a 12 year old about how Gearbox are a bunch of hypocrites and how you won't ever buy their games and they suck and blah blah blah, for one small feature MANY games don't have, which they were kind enough to explain, is really something that makes someone come off as just really, really unlikable and terrible, and its not doing any favors for getting more split screen support from developers when some of the few people who really want it might be people like this.
I love split screen gaming and I appreciate its existance in some PC games, but I go to consoles for split screen gaming, and pointing out cases where its viable (people with their PC connected to HDTV's, people with friends who don't have a console or a gaming PC yet want to game with them) is missing the point. Its laughable even to just assume the developers have to make every version exactly the same in capabilities or that they even have to make a PC version with extra support when they could just do a quick and dirty port, then do a massive childish rant on how terrible they are for not putting in a feature 98% of games don't support on PC, a feature that is somewhat dying all over. Split screen was never a PC feature, just because some developers take the time to add it in does not mean it is some standard feature every game should have and one you should scream and rant about just because its not there on a platform nobody would use it on anyways.
But OP could just be trolling now that I look back on the absurdity of it all ("no split screen that was never promised or talked about, that never had to be in any version in the first place? OMG Gearbox is tex suxorz!!!").
