Why do PC gamers insult consoles so much? I mean I just don't get it...everyone has a PC so what is so special about having one? Yes it can play games but that's not what they were designed to do. So why all the hate? Are Pcs sooo special or something?
Pc gaming isnt some super special l33t thing (tries to hold laugh), we just got thrown tonssssss of shooters when fps' first was popular, and continue to get many more. Pc gamers already got their share of arcade-shooters also get more realistic ones. Also, we got games like unreal tournament which is all the arcade action needed so screw late, terrible 360 ports.

Only recent pc game that plays like Gears is R6 Vegas. Tired of unrealistic run n gun shooters like HL2. Bring on Gears.

Taking cover and popping out to shoot is certainly realistic compared to the majority of shooters. Who in real life strafes out of cover to take a shot?

Have you ever heard of games like Red Orchestra, Operation Flashpoint, and Raven Shield, which kicks the livin crap outta Vegas, BTW?THOSE are realistic shooters.One shot, one kill, no chainsaws.

Damage ratios aside, the sp firefights in GOW are more realistic than ANY shooter. What other shooter has enemy ai that can pop out to take shots in 4 different positions? Game mechanics have nothing to do with theme and setting.

There is a lot of crap thrown from both directions. Computers are multi purpose machines, games being one of the "purposes". A console is just a computer with a minimal operating system, and hardware that stagnates for 5 years...

If it's definitely coming out for the PC, then Herrick shall also get it. This is good news for me 'cause Gears of War was the only 360 exclusive that really held my interest.

GoW may well come to PC just like Halo did. BUT you'll need Windows Vista to play it. Microsoft will not be able to resist making it Vista-only for PC. Another chance to screw PC gamers to sell their newest OS.
Fact are facts, sum ppl like playing games for the "fantacy escape" and other for realism. must say though, exept for the graphics Vegas sucked big time. Yet this is my oppinion. I play games for the "fantacy" aspect. Let my imagination go a bit. I'm for GOW all the way. Would be smokin hot. Now adays ppl only want good quality video, can you remember Kii Switch. Great game, Bad Story but the realism was good. Ducking and diving. not a run and Gun like Doom3 or Quake 4. To the Console players. You lucky buggers. to have GOW. I noticed you also gave supreme commander 5.5, and fear 5.5. In fact, you only rated a single PC game as higher than 5.5. I'm pretty sure that exactly the opposite of what you like is probably what is good.
gow is a little like sex - single player is boring and ultimately leaves you wanting something more, but two player coop is just completely awesome, one of the most enjoyable experiences around
i have not yet experienced a four player sex deathmatch so i cannot take the comparison further, but check back with me later, i'll try and have a four player sex deathmatch soon so i can compare it with gears
really, though - i think gow is pretty awful in singleplayer, and pretty damn vanilla in deathmatch - but two player coop, it's just fantastic - if the pc gears has the fully featured 360 coop features, then it's awesome news that gears is hitting our hard disks - if coop is absent or watered down, then as far as i care there's no point even releasing it

Doom 3 still looks great and I think it actually looks better than all the UE3 games so far.

I thought Kill Switch was a lot of fun. I really like how taking cover was utilized in this game and it seems like Gears of War takes a similar approach. There was a James Bond game out for the consoles a while back that did the same thing.

Let me look at those choices there: Herrick spends $360 for a game I don't want to play that badly. Herrick waits for the 360 price to go down and still spends hundreds to play a game I don't want to play that badly. Herrick waits for Gears of War to come out for the PC and spends $50 (or nothing) to play it. :idea: Think I'll go with choice #3.
