gears of war crashes on main menu, help

got gow today and installed it, everythings fine

id already checked on systemrequirementslab to confirm my system would run the game and it says everything is fine and will run it

loaded the game up and before i can select any options the game closes and windows searches for fix

anyone have any clues as to why its just crashing cos i dont ave a clue, please

well your card is garbage, that migght be why

try updating your drivers.

haha yep i no that, i have the latest drivers so cant be that, just wierd that i got the green bar from all the systemrquirments sites sayin i culd run it, damn internet

if i go buy a new gfx card will i lose my warrenty on the pc wen i put the new card in? i got a years free waranty from dell atm which came standard with new pc

also, i have a new poer supply so that is not an issure, but i a have found this graphics card 'Gigabyte NVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB 8800 GT Turbo'

will this fit in my dell inspiron 531?

if not, am i better to go with 'NVidia GeForce 8800GT 8800 GT 512MB PCI-E Grapics Card' which has 100mhz slower gpu and memory speed?

This has all the trademarks of a classic Vista problem.

Fortunately I have a solution. Go into the program files and look in binaries. Right click on Startup and 'Run as administrator'

This should work. If not then I believe there is an update on the microsoft website for Gears. Look on the Epic games website for it.

Oh and go with the BFG or EVGA imo.

Or save some money and get a 3870 although it does have rubbish drivers for DirectX10.

ok this is wierd, ive looked in my case and there is a prodcut key given

am i installing it wrong because i never got asked for it durin installation

also question before on will the gigabyte fit in my case?

ok i must be doing something wrong, ive reinstalled it (once again not asked for product key), installed patch and the game crashes about 5 second ter startup
