Well, it probably will come out for the PC but like jd7-03 said it's probably gonna take years like halo 2 is and halo 1 did, so by that time the sequel will be out for GOW and meh just buy a 360 (i'm a pc fan boy too so meh i dunno)
I wish they would just make up their damn minds. First they say it's coming to the PC, then they say "we have no plans blah blah"... And now they say something else .. sigh It's a crappy 10hour short port, who needs it anyway.
I wouldnt be. Most of us wil have a chance to play it by the time it would come out. Halo 2 is relasing for PC this year...i could only imagine when Gears wouuld come..2009 the earliest?Â

ill pick it up when it comes cuz i dont have a 360 and ill probably enjoy it but whether or not it will stand up to poc standards is something else entirely
personally, i found gow to be tedious as a single player game - and even as a deathmatch multiplayer game, there's little to it
it's coop where the game shines - get a good pal, get some mics and get cooperative and it's one of the best gaming experiences of my life
if the pc has the same level of coop support, then gow will be a very, very worth addition to the pc games library - if not, then personally i'd say there's no point in releasing it, the single player campaign is fairly humdrum, vanilla multiplayer isn't enough to tear most people away from the counterstrikes and the battlefields, and while the game looks damn amazing, by the time it finally makes its way to the pc, we'll already have a dozen ue3.0 games out - probably even improved versions of the unreal engine will have already hit the shelves even, so the game's stunning visual flair won't even be up to modern scratch
all round, solid game - but its excellence is highly situational, and while it's great for everyone who wants it if it does hit the pc shelves, i'd only pick it up if it had full coop support - but if it did, i'd definitely pick it up
all that said though, the thought of playing some warhammer 40k mods for gears of war is a very exciting prospect, so there'd definitely be some awesome modding potential for single player stuff beyond the campaign
The only reason Halo 2 was delayed was because of Vista. Now that Vista is out, there is no reason to delay Gears of War except out of developmental concerns. Its gonna come out for PC as soon as the console sales drop off a little bit. My guess is we will get an official announcment within four months.
The game looks cool and all but with all the games like Stalker, Hellgate: London, Dragon Age, Crysis, MoH Airborne, Bioshock and other games I know for sure I won't get this one. Does look cool though.

If its just going to be a straight port with little optimization for the pc environment, then no. Besides, inevitable doesnt mean its going to come out soon. If halo 2 for pc is anything to go by, then we will probably see it in 2010.

It definitely doesn't look like crap but if the low resolution textures aren't bumped up - it won't look good. Actually an xbox360 could be equivalent to a ~$1500. games made for the 360 are better optimized because its made for one specific hardware unlike the pc which has to work with a broader spectrum of hardware. plus theres the windows overhead and compatibility. and yes pcs are expensive and they will always be superior. i have both a gaming rig and a 360 and right now nothing tops gears on a 40"lcd and surround sound, and a couch, well not until crysis comes out then ill be back to my gaming pc.
