Gears of War PC players let down by GOW2

Anyone here have PC AND the consoles, and loved Gears 1 on the PC, but since there is no Gears 2 on the PC was forced to play Gears 2 on the 360 and got let down.

I played Gears 1 at MAX settings at true 1080 resoultion on my 40 plasma.... now i'm forced to play GOW2 at 720p with worse graphics thans Gears1 on PC. Its sort of a step down graphically speaking

Bah. I was mildly interested in Gears of War 1 and 2, until Cliffy B. answered the question of why 2 wasn't coming to PC with a statement that basically equalled: "All PC gamers are pirates." Maybe Gears of War 2 will eventually come to the PC, since 1 did after all. But it's too late now. With so many other great games to play, I won't be worrying about what I might have missed out on.

Maybe Gears of War 2 will eventually come to the PC, since 1 did after all. But it's too late now. With so many other great games to play, I won't be worrying about what I might have missed out on.

I don't care how correct he may or may not have been. I didn't say piracy is not a problem, and I didn't say "All PC gamers are not pirates." More like "Not all PC gamers are pirates." I pay for my games, but as far as Cliff is concerned I'm a thief because I own a gaming PC that I built myself. Therefore, I simply won't put one penny towards anything that ignorant windbag has a hand in.

I'm not getting into a discussion about the real problem of piracy and what should be done to combat it.

And to the OP: If I found myself in your situation, I would be extremely annoyed at the loss in quality that goes in hand with the game not being available on the PC, especially since my PC is also hooked up to my 1080P TV. So of course even if Cliff wasn't an idiot and I had bought and played Gears of War, I still probably wouldn't have bought Gears of War 2.

Truth be told, I don't really care if it ever makes it to the PC. GOW 1 was beyond abysmal on the PC and Epic should be ashamed of them selves for ever publishing a game like that. it was incredibly buggy, the animations were choppy, shooting mechanics were poor at best, and the cover system barely worked. Not to mention the multiplayer was completely broken and unplayable laggy with Games for Windows basically still in it's beta stage.

It's unfortunate they didn't learn their lesson and did the same thing to UT.

Gears of War on the PC after it was patched and with the Vsync fix was honestly a flwaless technical performance, no bugs at all , no screen tear, full on max graphics settings (at least the single part of it)...i pleayed a multiplayer map briefly but it was a BORE

yep, he said they werent bringing gears2 to the pc for 2 reasons - 1. because of high piracy rates (yet gears didnt even feature in the top ten most pirated pc games in the next 12 months after it was released). anyone savvy enough to buy the latest video card is also savvy enough to know how to use bit torrent, he said.

and 2. the difficulty epic have in making a game work for multiple configurations of pc hardware.

both seem like weak excuses tbh, shame because i really liked gears 2 and would love to see it on pc

wasnt epic in that pc gamin alliance or what it was called. i know there were a bit pissed at companies like intel labeling there on-board crap graphic cards

"gaming" cards. basicly making people believe that the hardware could handle the newest games.

i can understand that its a problem for pc developers. the majority of gamers dont have high end rigs that can run games like doom3 (best example),

sup com or crysis when these games come out. and certainly not crappy console ports.

then again u have exeptions like the last remnant that has huge issues on the console but runs just fine on my laptop ^^

Techinically all pc users are pirates, everyone has done something illegal with their pc, be it listening to copyrighted music, watching an episode/movie online or reading a book online.

I was comparing Gears 1 on PC vs Gears 2

I was NOT comparing Gears 1 on 360 vs Gears 2

because Gears 2 can't be played in TRUE 1080P and the GOW1 MAXED OUT on PC looks far better than GOW2 on 360

For me it seems like the gears series is like the Halo series. the origonal games in both series are quite good (at least Halo 1 was, i just got Gears and am not all that far into it, but it seems good so far) but still rather overblown in how good they are. then the devs decided to milk there success with far inferior sequels, which when compared to the origonals may seem better due to trivial improvements, are really just shallow and cheap knock offs of the origonal games. Halo 2 was easily one of the worst fps's i've ever played, i havent played halo 3 or gears 2, and i don't intend to.

But seriously, there are far better games out than GoW, i'll enjoy not having to help people when they struggle with it's sequels bad controls.

Mods used to lock threads like this, discussing games that aren't announced to be released on PC. they get lazy these days or there are just way too many console trespisssing posts to handle.
