Your pc does not meet the minimum system requirements.
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better graphics card, or ATI X700 or better graphics card.

Well, i got the laptop for 500 bucks, i can play all the FEARs, and Halo (not much of a surprise)your specs aren't the problem......everyone else is seeming to have the same issues.
But im sure that it woudnt tell me that it has encountered a problem, it would probably say "Your graphics processing unit has been known to have problems with handling graphics from . Cancel or Continue anyways."

Im not rich here people. I got it as a first computer gift last year, ok?
It' not a pice of s***, stop telling me it is. That was not my question. I wanted to know if there was a solution to my problem, not to know if anybody here thought my computer sucks.

Your answer probably lies somewhere in there. As for your laptop being crap, it depends on what context your talking in. As a normal laptop it definitely isn't, but since this is a gaming forum and it looks like you want to play games on your laptop, it's an absolute POS.
Hey everyone, I have just recieved my GoW for pc game and everything seems to fit the requirments " 2 GB RAM, NVidiaGeForce 7100GS graphics, a Pentium D 935 3.2 GHZ dual core, and a Biostar mATX motherboard " but i have had the same problem, about a minute after loading the game, the screen minimizes and the message comes up about not working properly and having errors. Anyone know whats wrong?

Your integrated 7100GS is what's wrong.
I'm really beginning to think that this really is just a GPU issue, as the only people so far having problems are those with integrated graphics cards under the minimum requirements.
Ok, seriously now, my computer doesnt suck that bad, I wont have the worst or the best graphics, but i can bet on it that i will get AT LEAST 25 fps.blackalbino360It's pretty bad for these days. Gears of War is using a "next-gen" engine (Unreal Engine 3). The unreal engine preformace (mostly)depends on a strong CPU and GPU to run well, seeing as those are the weak points in your machine I don't believe that you'll be able to run the game at any playable level without turning most every setting down to low.Thatstilldoesnmeanyoucan'tenjoyit.
Abouttheproblem,Ihavenoideawhatitis.:(
There seems to be a problem while installing the game, it seems that the software can't process the update or something like that here's the link.

I guess you're to young to work, buying a console might be the best way to enjoy recent games for you... if you can however work, buying a 800$ pc is a good investement for games/work/school and more.
Had exact same issue. What has worked for me is to simply "alt-tab" after the error message (do not touch the error message itself)...it takes me back into the game and it plays fine afterward. Also...to greatly reduce lag-like stutters I turned off "tripple buffering" in Nvidia control panel.

As for that error it could very well be related to your computer. And the fool that runs around with his OMG OMG gears has issues calm down and stop blowing things out of proportions.
The laptop that you have does suck horribly for gaming. For regular useage like word, internet, watching a video that's fine but for gaming that's like the car driving down the street backfiring every two seconds held together by clothes hangers in the gaming world.
Yes you may not be rich but im sorry it just isn't good for modern gaming. If your computer does not meet requirements you will have issues most of the time. And you also will not be getting 25fps in gears on that video card. What you need to do is go and get the latest drivers cross your fingers and try again. If it somehow works then have fun if it's playable.
Likely im guessing they didn't put error checking into the game if you're below requirements so it's probably trying to do things that your hardware doesn't support thus generating the error
Go to c:/programfiles/gearsofwar/binaries/startup.exe and enable administrator piveledges. Also you cant really run GOW because your labtop does not have an adequate 3d card. Try it anyway though and see.

Those are the official epic game forums where you can find help. However you really need a gaming system to RUN gow not a labtop.
